There is no other combination quite as classic and delicious as chocolate and peanut butter. But did you know that the two delicious flavors are also incredible with a little bit of coffee?

This Reese’s Coffee Milkshake has amazing flavor, a smooth, creamy texture, and is a hit with everyone that tries it. Simply combine a little bit of coffee and peanut butter in a blender with chocolate ice cream, give it a good blend, and it’s ready to go.

I love to garnish the milkshake off with a little bit of whip and some crushed peanut butter cups. It is so good!

What to Serve with a Coffee Milkshake

Coffee milkshakes are a delicious treat to enjoy as a sweet afternoon pick-me-up, but they also make an excellent addition to a sweet breakfast or brunch.

Here are a few delicious breakfast pairings to enjoy alongside a cold and creamy shake:

    Recipe Tips and Tricks

    • Use freshly brewed coffee. The flavor of fresh coffee is just unbeatable. In a pinch, you can use leftover coffee.
    • Let the coffee cool a little bit. Scalding hot coffee will just melt the ice cream. While you do want freshly brewed coffee, it is best if you let it cool just a little bit before assembling your milkshake.
    • Don’t over-blend. Over-blending the shake will start to heat and melt the ice cream. Blend enough for it to get creamy and smooth, but no more than necessary.

    Variations and Substitutions

    • Make it caffeine-free. Simply brew a pot of decaf coffee!
    • No hot coffee? This recipe would work with cold brew too.
    • Make it vegan. Swap the chocolate ice cream out for your favorite dairy-free variety and use vegan chocolate peanut butter cups.

    Storage Instructions

I don’t recommend storing this coffee milkshake. It is best enjoyed right away!

How to Blend Ice Cream Into a Milkshake

The best way to blend ice cream into a milkshake is to use a high-powered blender! It blends the ingredients quickly and smoothly for the perfect texture.

Without a high-powered blender, you may need to blend longer, which can affect the creaminess of the finished milkshake!

Do Coffee Milkshakes Have Coffee in Them?

They sure do! A classic milkshake is made sippable and creamy using ice cream blended with milk. A coffee milkshake is thinned out using coffee to add a little bit of java flavor.

The flavorof the shake is great. We added some ice to make more thick like a shake, is the only thing I did different and it came out wonderful.
