No-Bake Peppermint Pie
No-Bake Peppermint Pie is the perfect Christmas dessert that takes no time to make! This creamy filling is made with marshmallows and peppermint on top of an Oreo cookie crust for a quick and easy no-bake dessert.
Hi friends, Heather here visiting from Food Lovin’ Family. I am happy to be back with you today to share an easy No-Bake Peppermint Pie just in time for the holidays.
This No-Bake Peppermint Pie has quickly become a holiday favorite in our house. It combines subtle peppermint flavor with marshmallows, whipped cream and a chocolate sandwich cookie crust. The flavor reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream, YUM!
This Peppermint Pie makes a beautiful, festive dessert to bring to a holiday party. The pretty pink color pops as much as the deep peppermint flavor in the marshmallow filling.

Ingredients
- Oreo cookies
- Butter
- Marshmallows
- Milk
- Vanilla extract
- Salt
- Red food coloring
- Peppermint extract
- Heavy cream
- Peppermint candies
You may also choose to take the easy way out and buy a pre-made chocolate cookie crust, but I promise, it is so easy to make your own! All you need is Oreos and butter, and I definitely suggest eating a few Oreos while you make the crust. It totally helps. 🙂
What I used for my No-Bake Peppermint Pie
This post contains affiliate links.
- Saucepan: A sturdy saucepan is necessary for melting marshmallows for this Christmas pie, and this one has a clear lid so you can know exactly when your food is ready!
- Food processor: Food processors are a lifesaver in the kitchen! I like this one because it has multiple settings.
- Pie plate: This clear pie plate is perfect for showing off your beautiful crust.
How to Make No-Bake Peppermint Pie
- First, make your crust. Simply throw your Oreo cookies in the food processor and pulse until they’re crumbs. You can also do this with a ziplock bag and a rolling pin or bottle of wine in a pinch. Then, stir your crushed cookies with butter and press the mixture into your pie plate. Let this chill for at least half an hour.
- Then, melt your marshmallows and milk in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the marshmallows are super smooth and completely melted.
- Now, mix the peppermint extract, food coloring, and vanilla extract into the marshmallow mixture. About six drops of red food coloring will give you a soft pink color, but you can add more color if you prefer it to be a little darker. You can also skip the food coloring completely for a white pie filling.
- Once it’s mixed, let the filling cool for about half an hour, stirring occasionally. While it cools, whip the cream and fold the whipped cream into the marshmallow mixture. Assemble your peppermint pie and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.
I like to top this No-Bake Peppermint Pie with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy before serving.
How to Store Leftovers
This pie will last up to 4 days in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer.
You can easily make this pie a day or even two days before your holiday dinner for an easy Christmas dessert.

I am new to making desserts. Question when making the crust do you remove the filling from the Oreo cookies or crush with the filling.
You can crush them whole as is! I don’t remove the filling.
My son is asking for this pie to be the middle of a chocolate mint piecaken for his birthday next weekend… is there any reason this might not work? I’m thinking to chill it at the back of the fridge overnight before putting it inside the cake to make sure it’s firm, but other than that, no idea.
Good question, I’m not sure either! I think that should be ok though. Just chill it and make sure it’s firm.
