Absolutely! If you prefer homemade crust and have a favorite recipe, you can easily swap a store bought crust for a homemade pie crust. I just like cutting the corner and reaching for a store-bought crust to speed up the process. Plus, making homemade pie crust is an art I feel, so having one be light and flaky takes time to master.

Can I Swap the Walnuts in the Fudge Pie Recipe
You can swap the walnuts with another nut or leave the nuts out altogether. I love the bit of crunch and nutty flavor, but if you are not a fan of nuts or have an allergy, just leave it out. As for the alternatives, you can add in pecans, slivered almonds or even chopped cashews.

How To Prevent Pie Crust from Over-Cooking in Oven
Do you hate when the outside of your pie shell overcooks why you are waiting for your pie to cook? You can either buy a pie shell protector or take small strips of aluminum foil and place them around the crust and try to crimp them a bit. Don’t get the foil in the batter. Then bake regularly, and then about 10-15 minutes till it is done, remove foil and let it cook up the crust.
This method works for any pie. I do this often; it is such a handy trick.
How to Make Brownie Pie
You want to start by melting your butter and chocolate chips in a saucepan and heat until the chips are fully melted. Then turn off the heat and remove, and allow it to cool for five minutes.
Once the chocolate has cooled, whisk in your sugar and vanilla. Then one at a time, add in your eggs until it is fully incorporated. Next, add in your flour and salt, and then once mixed add in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Pour batter into your pie crust, and smooth the top. Bake on the lowest rack for around 35 minutes or until you can stick a toothpick into the pie and it comes out clean.
Top with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream and dive in.
How to Store Brownie Pie
I like to keep this pie in the fridge and then just slice and eat chilled or warm up quickly in the microwave when we want a slice. It is a delicious pie.
Can You Freeze Brownie Pie
I have not tried freezing this pie, but I would think it would freeze just fine. Just allow the pie to fully cool on the counter, then wrap in saran wrap followed by aluminum foil. Then freeze for anywhere up to three months. Thaw on the counter or fridge before serving.
