How To Make It
- First, place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- In a mixing bowl, mix together the Coke, barbecue sauce, and canned cherries. Mix until combined, then pour over the chicken breasts.
- Cover the chicken in the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for eight hours. Turn off the heat once the chicken has reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove the cooked chicken breasts from the Crockpot and, in another bowl, stir together the cornstarch and water. Pour the mixture into the slow cooker and mix together with a spoon to thicken the sauce.
- Add the cooked chicken breasts back to the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Serve the cooked chicken and sweet sauce over a bed of rice.
Can you put raw chicken in a slow cooker?
Yes, you can! Cook raw chicken in the slow cooker anywhere between four to eight hours until the chicken is done.
Is it better to cook chicken on high or low in the Crockpot?
I usually cook my chicken in the Crockpot on low to make sure it doesn’t dry out. Cooking the chicken on low ensures that the chicken breasts or thighs will be moist, tender, and delicious once they are cooked.
