Recipe Tips and Tricks
- Always use a meat thermometer to check your chicken. Be sure the internal temperature reaches 165F before using it in this easy recipe.

- Use different cutting boards for meat and a separate one for vegetables to avoid cross-contamination.
- Check your flavor of this before you go and add in salt or other spices and herbs as the ranch brings a mouthful of flavors.
- If you premade this dish, give it a few good stirs before serving and enjoying.
Variations and Substitutions

Storage Instructions
Store your homemade BLT Chicken Salad in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Can I Freeze?
You can try to freeze this recipe. Due to the nature of the ingredients, I don’t particularly like to freeze chicken salad because once you thaw it out, the consistency and texture is much different and not as delicious as when you first made it.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes, you can make this homemade BLT Chicken Salad ahead of time. I really enjoy doing this as it helps the flavors meld together. In fact, this is one of those recipes that is even better the next day, after the salad has had plenty of time to infuse the flavors nicely together.
Making this salad recipe ahead of time will save you the precious time, stress, and effort around dinner, or lunchtime in the future. If it’s possible for you to do it, I highly recommend it.
What other add-ins can I try?
You can add in any of your other favorite chicken salad additions. Some easy ideas would be walnuts, almonds, grapes, raisins, or apples.
