Tuna Salad
Give me a can of tuna and some mayonnaise any day and I’ll be a happy camper. Tuna on its own is kinda blah, but add some creaminess to it and voilá. Delicious!
This is the best Tuna Salad in my opinion. It’s got everything I love. Yummy tuna flavor. A creamy dressing. Crunchy veggies.
And it also has potato chips in it. Say what?! I love the extra crunch and saltiness they add to the recipe.
Matty and I kept some of the Tuna Salad here for us to enjoy. His parents picked up a container of it too to try. They told me they really enjoyed it.
It was super easy to make. It’s perfect for lunches, picnics and barbecues and those times you are craving a can of tuna. Try this recipe instead!

How to Make Tuna Salad
It’s easy peasy!
In a large bowl, stir together the drained tuna, green pepper, onions and cabbage.
To make the dressing, stir together vinegar and mayonnaise. Add to large bowl and stir to combine.
If you aren’t ready to eat it at this point, cover and put in the fridge. If you are ready to enjoy, add the potato chips. Serve immediately.
We found with the kettle cooked potato chips that they maintained their crunchiness longer. They weren’t soggy even after the salad was in the fridge for a few hours.

How Long Does Tuna Salad Last
Tuna Salad will last for about 3 days in the fridge. Keep it covered.
I don’t recommend freezing it because of the mayonnaise. It doesn’t freeze well.
How to Serve Tuna Salad
You have a few different ways to serve this yummy salad recipe.
- Eat it on its own.
- Serve it in a pita or tortilla wrap.
- Use it in a sandwich.
- Serve it in a lettuce cup or lettuce wrap. If you want to make it low carb, omit the potato chips.
What Kind of Tuna to Use
I used flaked tuna that has been packed in water. I wouldn’t use the tunas packed in oil because it will change the flavor of the recipe.
Tuna can be expensive (at least where I live) so keep an eye on the flyers and grab a bunch of cans when they are on sale.

We love tuna salad in our house as well. Paired with some Triscuits or a slice of toast, yes please.
