Can I cook this in an aluminum cake pan?
Yes, that should be fine!
I make this with ground turkey and it very tasty. I also use “CarbQuik” a sub for Bisquick with less carbs and it works fine.
I’m not sure I made this correctly. Is the bisquick mixture supposed to look wet still after it’s done baking?
Hi. I’m not sure I cooked this correctly. Is the bisquick mixture supposed to look wet still after baking?
No, it shouldn’t be wet. It should be more golden and cheesy coloured.
What do you think about adding hash browns on top of cheese? Or on top of it all with more cheese?
Sounds like it would be yummy!
What is Bisquick? I’m in the U.K. and I haven’t seen it sold here.
It’s a premixed baking mix. You can make your own with this recipe here: https://www.mybakingaddiction.com/homemade-bisquick/
can I make this up ahead of time and put in fridge and still bake at the same amount of time?
Yes, you can. Remove it from the fridge and let it set at room temperature for about 30 minutes and then bake as directed.
Can I use pancake mix instead of bisquik?
Pancake mix is similar to bisquick but usually has some added sugar. It should work but it might change the flavor/texture slightly.
Do I have to use Bisquick or can I use a pancake mix
I haven’t tried it with pancake mix, but it should be fine! It might change the flavor/texture slightly.
I wanted to like this but I thought it missed the mark as far as being “cheeseburger”. I feel like the Bisquick and onion mix flavors were leaning towards a Mexican dish. IF I were to try this recipe again, I would use a larger dish, add taco seasoning in the ground beef, then blend in corn, a can of diced tomatoes (Rotello) and maybe black beans. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and shredded lettuce. Otherwise, this recipe was only tolerable; I followed the recipe to the “t”, my husband and I had one slice and threw the remaining pie away ☹️.
