One of my favorite spots to be is on the couch cozied up with a good book, comfy blanket and a hot drink. Winter, spring, autumn or summer, I don’t care. It’s the ultimate me-time and so relaxing!

Lately, I’m all about this Butterscotch Steamer. It’s so easy to make that I can whip up a batch for Matty and I in a matter of minutes. I’ll grab the comfiest blanket ever (more on that in a few!), whatever book I’m reading and just sit back and sip and enjoy the sweet decadence.

I sprinkle my Butterscotch Steamer with cinnamon to give it a little extra kick of spicy flavor. This recipe serves four or two BIG servings. Matty always wants to have a drink, too. He’s usually playing on his Xbox though versus reading a book like me.

Bearaby Weighted Blanket

You know how kids have their favorite blanket? Adults can, too. I’m in love with my Bearaby Weighted Blanket – I have the Tree Napper (15 lbs) in Almond color.

This was my first experience trying a weighted blanket (as well as Matty’s first experience). We both LOVE it and actually argue about who gets to sleep with it in bed that night.

It came to us from Bearaby enclosed in this bag. It’s heavy to lift (for me, anyways) and I was curious to see what it would feel like wrapped up in it.

Inside was this gorgeous naturally cooling weight blanket. I love the neutral color and how it will match almost any decor. The material is plant-based TENCEL.

It’s made of Eucalyptus fiber with an open weave design making the blanket super breathable and perfect for warmer weather. If you’re a hot sleeper like me, you’ll love this blanket.

It also comes in organic cotton if you prefer.

All Bearaby blankets are handmade by a team of experience knitters guaranteeing you’ll always receive a one-of-a-kind blanket.

But how does it feel to be under it? Heavenly. Amazing. Cozy. The first time I brought this blanket with me to bed I feel asleep so quickly and had such a nice deep sleep. I didn’t notice myself tossing or turning. It’s like a familiar comforting feeling when you have it on top of your body.

I wasn’t sure what the experience of using a weighted blanket would be like, but I can say, this is now my favorite blanket I own. Matty also enjoys being wrapped up in it.

The Tree Napper comes in 15 lbs, 20 lbs and 25 lbs. You can choose from the following colors:

  • Papaya
  • Almond
  • Pomegranate
  • Avocado
  • Rosemary

They also have recently launched the Nappling, a kid’s weighted blanket. I’d be curious for Matty’s 10 year old daughter to try it out when she comes for her visits.
