I only used four ingredients in this easy shrimp recipe. Here’s what you’ll need before you make it.

    • Butter: For best results, use unsalted butter.
    • Lemon: Using fresh lemon will taste the best.
    • Italian Dressing Mix Packet: This perfectly balances spices and herbs.
    • Fresh Shrimp: Fresh shrimp cooks perfectly in the air fryer. I prefer jumbo shrimp; you can cook shrimp of any size or shape in the air fryer. You can even make popcorn shrimp in the air fryer, too.

How to Make Air Fryer Shrimp

Follow along to learn how to make air fryer shrimp.

    • Step One: Line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil and place the shrimp in the basket.
    • Step Two: Sprinkle the shrimp with the packet of Italian seasoning.
    • Step Three: Add the lemon slices and butter (I like to slice the butter into a few pieces to spread throughout the air fryer basket).
    • Step Four: Air fry at 400°F for 10 minutes or until shrimp is cooked. Enjoy!

    What to Serve with Them

There are so many different ways to serve air-fried shrimp. Here are some of my favorite recipes that taste good with seasoned shrimp.

    Variations and Substitutions

    • Use jarred lemon juice instead of a fresh lemon.
    • Make your own Italian seasoning mix with garlic powder, onion powder, dried basil, oregano, and parsley.
    • Use Old Bay Seasoning on the shrimp instead of Italian Seasoning.
    • Make them spicier by adding some red pepper flakes.

    Storage Instructions

Store any leftover shrimp in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave until hot.

    Recipe Tips and Tricks

    • We like to save the melted butter from the air fryer to dip the shrimp in. You can also melt plain butter for serving as well.
    •  Place shrimp in a single layer.
    • Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil or your favorite cooking spray.

    Can I Use Frozen Shrimp?

I used raw shrimp in this recipe, but you can reheat cooked shrimp or frozen shrimp in the air fryer. If you use frozen shrimp, it will take longer to cook. Keep cooking shrimp until it is fully cooked.

How Do You Know When The Shrimp Is Done?

The best way to tell when shrimp is fully cooked is to use a food thermometer. Shrimp needs to cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. It will turn from a pinkish color to opaque/creamy white.

Can You Air Fry With The Shell On?

Yes, you can air-fry shrimp with the shell on. This will just give you more work to do when you eat it. If you want to eat the shrimp with a fork immediately after it cooks, I suggest removing the shell before you cook it.

    How To Reheat

Reheating the shrimp is easy in the air fryer. Place the shrimp back in the air fryer basket and heat it at 350°F for about 3 minutes. That’s it!

    Dipping Sauces

My favorite way to enjoy this shrimp is to eat it with my favorite dipping sauce. Here are a few sauce ideas that taste perfect with the shrimp.

How Can I Use In A Meal?

There are a lot of different ways to use the cooked shrimp. Add them to shrimp tacos. Or mix them into your favorite Alfredo sauce with pasta and have shrimp alfredo. This shrimp tasted delicious on the side with some baked salmon and rice. My favorite way to use this shrimp is to add it to shrimp chowder.
