Reese’s Stuffed Brownies

Reese’s Stuffed Brownies are a decadent and delicious treat that will satisfy even the most serious of chocolate cravings! They are made with a rich and fudgy brownie base, and stuffed with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

These stuffed brownies are an easy to make treat that come together in just over a half an hour, making them perfect for an easy dessert or snack for any occasion. Whether you’re looking for something special for the holidays or just want to indulge yourself after dinner, these Reese’s Stuffed Brownies will hit the spot.

  • Salted butter
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Unsweetened baking chocolate
  • Granulated sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Eggs
  • All-purpose flour
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

How to Make Reese’s Stuffed Brownies

  • Step One: Preheat the oven to 350F. Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray.
  • Step Two: In a small saucepan, heat the chocolate, peanut butter and butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Once melted, remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes.
  • Step Three: In a large mixing bowl, add sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Beat on high speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour in chocolate and beat on low speed until combined. Beat in flour on low speed until combined.
  • Step Four: Add a tablespoon of brownie batter to each muffin tin. Place a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup on top of each. Slightly press down to embed the peanut butter cup in the batter. Add about a teaspoon of brownie batter on top of each and spread to cover. Your peanut butter cup will now be fully encased inside the brownie.
  • Step Five: Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool in the pan before removing onto a cooling rack.

What To Serve With Brownies Stuffed with Reese’s

Helpful Tips and Tricks

  • Be careful when biting into these stuffed brownies. The inside chocolate will be melty and can be very hot.
  • Do not over mix your brownie batter or you will have super dense chocolate brownies.
  • Be careful when checking your brownies for doneness. If you use the toothpick method where you stick a toothpick in the center of each brownie- they may not come out clean even if the brownies are finished baking. The Reese’s Cup in the center may have started to melt and that can cause the toothpick to come out dirty, looking like the brownies may need more time in the oven.

Recipe Variations and Substitutions

  • I made the brownie batter from scratch, but if you wanted to save on time, a boxed mix would work too. If choosing a brownie mix, use a good quality one like Ghiradelli or Hershey’s Brownie Mix.  They look like brownie cupcakes, but inside is a hidden delight: a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.
  • Want even more peanut butter chocolatey goodness? Once the brownies are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes before spreading a peanut butter drizzle over the top. Then, sprinkle on some Reese’s pieces and press them into the peanut butter. Allow the brownies to cool completely before digging into them – trust me, it’ll be worth the wait!
  • You can use full size or mini Reese’s Cups for this recipe.

    Store any leftover stuffed brownies in an airtight container or zip top bag. Store them on the counter at room temperature for up to a week.

    You don’t want to refrigerate these treats in the fridge because you will end up drying them out and they won’t last as long or they will turn into a hard brick. 

    Can I Freeze This?

    Oh, frozen Reese’s Stuffed Brownies sound delicious! What a great idea. 

    Once these treats have cooled down, you can place the leftover brownies in a freezer safe container or place them in a freezer safe bag. 

    Keep them in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. 

    When you want to have one of these treats again, you could pull them out and let them thaw or you can let them thaw for a few minutes, until you can bite them again. It’s kind of like when you pop a Reese’s Cup in the freezer and enjoy them again partly frozen. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy this treat.

    What other things can I stuff brownies with?

    The options here are really endless. Pick any of your favorite treats and pop them inside the brownie treats like you did with Reese’s in this recipe. Any of your favorite candy bars broken down, or snack size candy pieces would be great to stuff inside.

    What makes for fudgy brownies? 

    Brownies with more of a fudgy consistency have a higher fat to flour ratio. If you want more cake like brownies, you’ll use more flour than fat when compared in a ratio.

    1. Can you make these in mini muffin pans? How long do you think they take to cook

      1. Yes, I’d check them at about 20 minutes to see if they are done.
