Taco Chili
The perfect chili fusion with a Mexican flair! This Taco Chili has received rave reviews from my friends and family.
Today is National Chili Day! Who is ready to celebrate with me? I have a yummy Taco Chili perfect for this special occasion.
Chili was one of our dinner staples growing up. My used to make a big batch of chili every few weeks. Her recipe was more of a traditional chili recipe. It had ground beef, tomatoes, kidney beans, onions, green peppers and chili powder. I like to add twists to my recipes so I created this mouthwatering Taco Chili. The feedback I’ve received so far about it has been favourable.
Taco Chili
It’s made with ground beef, onions, black beans, corn, tomatoes, taco sauce, chili powder and taco seasoning. It’s chili with a Mexican flair!
Dress it up with shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions and some corn chips for dunking. It tastes like tacos with a hint of chili flavour fusion.
I gave a storage container of chili to my friend, Becky, to bring home. This recipe makes a huge batch and it was more than Bridget and I could eat ourselves. Plus, I like to share what I make with friends and family.
I got a call last night from Becky’s boyfriend. He wanted me to tell you that it was the best chili he’s ever tried. That made me feel great! I knew it was a good recipe, but didn’t realize it was that good. Give it a try and let me know what you think, too!

can i cook your mexican chili in a crockpot and if so, for how long. the recipe sounds wonderful!
Yes, you can! I would still cook the beef and onions in the skillet first though and then add everything to the slow cooker. Cook for 7 to 8 hours on low.
How would this be done in a crock pot?
I would cook the ground beef and onions first. Then add the ingredients to the crockpot. Cook for 6 to 8 hours on low heat.
Can’t wait to try this recipe but I have a big family so need to double the ingredients
If I’m not mistaken, chili and tacos are both originally Mexican. So saying chili with a Mexican flair is kind of redundant
Looks delicious.
What brand of taco sauce?
Any brand should be fine! I personally like Old El Paso.
Are you supposed to drain meat?
If you find it overly greasy, you can drain the meat.
what about liquid got to have some kind of liquid in it
The two cans of diced tomatoes have lots of liquid in them. Also, the taco sauce is liquid too.
chill is the best.
Could this be made in a slow cooker after cooking the beef?
Yes, I would do it four to five hours on low.
I’m going to double it! Should I still do 4-5 hours? 🙂
You should be fine at that amount of time.
Oh my I want to make this chili now. It sounds delicious. Thank you for sharing your recipe at Snickerdoodle and I am featuring your recipe at the party tomorrow.
