When the cold weather sets in, there is nothing better than a hot bowl of chili to warm you up from the inside out. And, I must not be alone as chili is actually so popular it has its own special day. February 27th is known and dedicated as National Chili Day.

Chili is also one of those easy to make meals. Whether you utilize your slow cooker, Instant Pot, or go for long-simmering in a pot on the stove, it is all pure deliciousness! But, who would have thought there are so many different, yet delicious, ways to make chili? Oh, my! My favorite way of making chili is in the slow cooker. It’s so easy to throw ingredients into a slow cooker and let it do all the work. Your house fills with the aroma of delicious food and at the end of a long day, you have a hot and tasty meal to enjoy.

    And, what about the allusive “secret ingredient”? It is an argument among chili makers that goes way back. It seems everyone claims to have a special ingredient that makes their chili the very best. Well, I guess I will jump on the “secret sauce” wagon too. I recently discovered that adding red wine vinegar to chili really brings out the richness and depth of flavor. I’m using it in all my chili recipes and it is oh so good!

    On the other hand, some people use chocolate as their secret ingredient while some others say to add beer! Who knew chili recipes could be so mysterious?! Ha!

      Wow! Thank you for posting these. I have been wanting to try another version of Chili and now I have so many to choose from.

    4. With 101 choices, this list is big enough for me to never have to look anywhere else for more (additional) recipes.

    5. I don’t like chili. (not a fan of peppers, onions, beans… but my husband loves chili. I should surprise him with one of these recipes sometime. (and make myself a poutine so I don’t have to eat it.)

I can’t wait to go through these and make some of them. We LOVE chili in this house and since spring is just around the corner its the perfect time to make some chili!

      Wow what a wonderful list of chili recipes, one for about any taste you might have or ingredient you have in the house, I am saving this site and will try a few of them I am especially interested in the sweet potato chili, sounds great, and beats just routine southwest chili.
