Dilly Bagels Recipe
Toasted bagels topped with a dill cream cheese spread and topped with fresh cucumbers and dill. Dilly Bagels are a delicious breakfast!
I recently wrote a post for UrbanMoms and shared a recipe for Dill-icious Bagels created by Food Network Chef, Bob Blumer. Well, it looked so good that I wanted to give it a try for myself! It’s a keeper and so darn easy. It gives regular plain cream cheese a little more flavor.
Why You’ll Love Dill Bagels
- Easy to make
- Ready in no time
- Refreshing snack
- Simple ingredients
Ingredients
- Plain bagels
- English cucumber or field cucumber
- Salt
- Cream cheese
- Fresh dill
- Orange zest

How to Make Dilly Bagels
- Step One: Peel and cut cucumber into super-thin slices. Transfer to a small bowl and sprinkle with salt. Toss continuously for 1 minute or until slices start to release water (the brine). Let sit for a minimum of 5 minutes, then serve immediately or refrigerate.
- Step Two: In a medium bowl, use a fork to blend cream cheese, dill, zest and pepper. Reserve.
- Step Three: To serve: Toast, and if you choose, lightly butter bagel. Top with cream cheese and cucumber slices. Garnish with dill.

What to Serve With Cream Cheese & Dill Bagel
It can be served on its own, but if you wanted a side or drink with it, I recommend these recipes!
- Oven Scrambled Eggs
- Strawberry Vanilla Smoothie
- Citrus Bliss Infused Water
- The Best Iced Coffee Ever
- Rainbow Fruit Salad
Variations and Substitutions
- Try using flavored cream cheese such as dill or chives if you want extra flavor.
- You can use different kinds of bagels such as everything bagels or sesame seed bagels.
- Add in different herbs for garnish such as basil, chives or parsley.
- Add sliced cherry tomatoes or avocado on top.
Storage Instructions
You can prepare the cream cheese ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. I recommend eating the bagels fresh for best results.
