Nothing beats kicking back in the hot summer sun with a cold drink in your hand. Fruity drinks are great, but I’m partial to my cup of coffee. However, when it’s 40°C with the humidex, the last thing I want in hand is something hot. I created the most decadent and rich summertime drink that looks fancy, but really isn’t. This Chocolate Chip Cookie Coffee Milkshake is one you can make as a treat for yourself or prepare several to impress your friends.
It’s SO easy to make! It all starts with cookie dough ice cream. The one I bought was chocolate cookie dough ice cream, but use whatever kind you can find at the grocery store.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Coffee Milkshake
Add in freshly brewed coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. Store-bought cookies are fine! Like I said, I wanted this drink to be simple to make.
Now this little extra bit is for presentation. It won’t change the flavour of the drink, but it sure makes it look pretty incredible and over-the-top! Rim your glasses in chocolate syrup. I poured chocolate syrup in a bowl and then swirled the tops of the glasses in it to cover.
Then dip your glass in crushed chocolate chip cookies. They’ll stick to the chocolate syrup.
Complete the look with a chocolate chip cookie on the rim. Cut it the same way you would cut a lemon with a little triangle taken out. It will sit pretty on the glass.
The first sip goes down so smooth. It’s creamy, chocolatey and just the right amount of coffee flavour. My cousin says they remind her of an iced cappuccino.

- 4 cups cookie dough ice cream
- 1 1/2 cups freshly brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup chocolate sauce
- 4 chocolate chip cookies
- Whipped cream, for topping
- Pour chocolate sauce into a bowl and rim the top of each glass. Crumble 1 cookie into a bowl. Dip the glass into the cookie crumbles. Set aside.
- Add ice cream, 1 cookie and coffee into a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into prepared glass. Garnish with whipped cream and 1 crumbled chocolate chip cookie.
- Cut a small triangle out of the last two cookies. Place on the rim of each glass for garnish and serve.
