Recipe Tips and Tricks

  • Wear gloves. This is key when slicing hot peppers. If you don’t have gloves, wash your hands very thoroughly with soap before touching your eyes or nose.
  • Chop small. Slice the bell peppers thinly and chop the jalapeño and hot pepper up small so everything incorporates nicely together.
  • Use uncooked pasta. The pasta cooks right in the sauce. No need to cook it first!
  • To tone down the heat, use mild Italian sausage and one jalapeño pepper instead of two. You can also just leave the jalapeño out entirely.

This sounds like a great one pot dinner. I love quick and easy dinners they save my but a lot nights during the school year.

    2. I know what you mean about itching your eye with “hot” hands. After the birth of my last child I had my husband snag a few extra pairs of the gloves so that I would have them on hand for green chili season. Next year I will be looking to buy a few pairs.

Your one pot dinner looks amazing! I love one pot dinners and how easy they make dinner on a busy night.

    3. Pinned it! Looks tasty. And I have sausage in the fridge!! Doubly perfect!

The “fiery eyeball” thing made me laugh! Though I know it isn’t funny at the time, by personal experience. Gloves are a must!!
