Ramen noodles aren’t an ingredient you’d typically associate with a dessert recipe. It’s a bit strange, I know, but I had a feeling it just might work. It’s not that much of stretch. I’ve been making Chocolate Peanut Butter Haystacks for years with chow mein noodles. I decided to give it a try and hope for the best!
My youngest daughter loves cooked ramen noodles so they are always plentiful in our pantry. Plus, they are crazy cheap – like $0.25 a bag or something. Grab a package and crush them up into small pieces with a rolling pin. And no, they aren’t cooked. You won’t be using the little spice packet that comes with it. I don’t think that would work unfortunately!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Ramen Bars
Put your crushed ramen noodles into a large bowl. Pour in your can of sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, salt and powdered sugar (aka icing sugar). Spread it evenly cover your baking pan.
The topping is simply melted chocolate chips. I know it’s not that fancy, but whatever. It’s all good! The chocolate will harden as it cools and the peanut butter mixture will firm up a little bit, but still stay relatively soft. It’s nice and chewy!
Did I mention this was a no-bake dessert? It’s getting hot and I never feel like using my oven when my house is sweltering. I keep them in the fridge so they always stay chilled. Plus, if I left them on my counter, the chocolate would probably melt. I need central air!

- Cooking spray
- 1 package ramen noodles, crushed
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (300 ml OR 10 oz for the USA folks)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- Add parchment paper to a 9×9 baking pan and then spray with cooking spray.
- Add ramen noodles, sweetened condensed milk, salt, powdered sugar and peanut butter to a large bowl and stir together.
- Spread mixture evenly into baking pan.
- Microwave the chocolate chips on medium for 45 seconds. Stir and continue to microwave at 15 second increments on medium until melted. Stir in between. Watch it carefully so it doesn’t seize.
- Pour melted chocolate on top of ramen mixture in the pan and spread to cover. Place in the fridge for 2 hours or until set. Cut into squares and enjoy.
