Chocolate Peanut Butter Ramen Bars
Chocolate Peanut Butter Ramen Bars have the perfect texture. Creamy smooth peanut butter, mixed with the ramen noodles and silky smooth chocolate topping. Every bite is a tasty surprise.
Ramen noodles aren’t an ingredient you’d typically associate with a dessert recipe. It’s a bit strange, I know, but I had a feeling it just might work. It’s not that much of a stretch. I’ve been making Chocolate Peanut Butter Haystacks for years with chow mein noodles. I decided to give it a try and hope for the best!
My youngest daughter loves cooked ramen noodles so they are always plentiful in our pantry. Plus, they are crazy cheap – like $0.25 a bag or something. Grab a package and crush them up into small pieces with a rolling pin. And no, they aren’t cooked. You won’t be using the little spice packet that comes with it. I don’t think that would work unfortunately!
The topping is simply melted chocolate chips. I know it’s not that fancy, but whatever. It’s all good! The chocolate will harden as it cools and the peanut butter mixture will firm up a little bit, but still stay relatively soft. It’s nice and chewy!
Did I mention this was a no-bake dessert? It’s getting hot and I never feel like using my oven when my house is sweltering. I keep them in the fridge so they always stay chilled. Plus, if I left them on my counter, the chocolate would probably melt. I need central air!
I shared another ramen noodle dessert last summer: Rocky Road Bites. They are also no bake!

Helpful Tips and Tricks
- When you go to cut your ramen bars into pieces, I recommend using a nice and freshly sharpened knife. The sharper it is, the easier it is to cut. The texture of these bars can be difficult. In order to get nice clean cuts, wipe the knife blade off in between cuts.
- Want to make these bars for specific holidays? Use cookie cutters in the shape of whatever will go with your theme to make these look different than classic square or rectangular bars. Try christmas trees for Christmas, Easter eggs for Easter, 4 Leaf Clover for St. Patrick’s Day, and more.
Recipe Variations and Substitutions
- For a sweeter variation on this recipe, you can add 1 cup of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon to the ramen noodle mixture.
- You can also change up the toppings by adding different kinds of nuts and/or dried fruits.
- For an extra indulgent treat, try adding ½ cup of marshmallow fluff to the top before baking. If you’re looking for more savory flavors, you can substitute the chocolate chips for white chocolate chips or add 1 teaspoon of chili powder and 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika to the noodle mixture.
- Use some melted almond bark or melting chocolate wafers to add some more flavors to these tasty bars.
Leftover Storage
Store any remaining bars in an airtight container. Store them in the fridge, especially when it’s warmer weather so the topping doesn’t melt.
If stored properly, these treats should last up to 4-5 days.
Can I Freeze This?
Yes! These are a tasty treat to freeze for later. Place them in a freezer safe container with parchment paper in between layers so they don’t all freeze together.
Then it’s easier to remove however many you want when you need them again.
It is also helpful to flash freeze leftover bars so they freeze and stay individual instead of freezing all together as one big unit. To flash freeze dessert bars, place them on a parchment lined baking sheet and then line out the desserts. Place them in the freezer for a few hours before removing them once they’re frozen solid. Once solid, place them in the freezer safe container or bag and then into the freezer for up to 3 months.
Let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight before enjoying again.
What other things can I add?
Try adding some marshmallow fluff on top of these bars or add a few mini marshmallows to the mixture.
Try adding some sprinkles or for a very sweet decadent treat, add a thin layer of frosting. The options are limitless.

I am making this recipe for tomorrow and I did not have sweetened condensed milk. I found a homemade recipe with raw eggs, which I just made. I don’t know if I should try to heat the homemade milk or if I should cook the recipe a bit.
Have you ever cooked and cooled this recipe?
I haven’t cooked the recipe, but I’d probably want to cook the homemade milk with the eggs just in case!
I don’t know why, but the peanut butter mixture didn’t harden very well and is mushy and messy to handle. I definitely did the 10oz of sweetened condensed milk.
How big is a packet of ramen in grams?
They are 100g.
I’ve never thought of Ramen as being a dessert item, but I bet it adds a nice crunch.
how much butter?
I see now you are in Canada. That explains the sweetened condensed milk with the footnote in ml. Unfortunately, I didn’t see that until I’d followed the first instruction: 1 can. Cans here in the US are usually 14 oz. which is well over 300 ml. So I added way too much, which ruined this. You might want to put, instead, 10 oz, which is what Google says 300 ml translates to.
We use SCMilk in our Vietnamese coffee, so that extra 4 oz. would have been saved for that. This now isn’t hardening. It’s a mess, which will get tossed out. You might want to correct that to keep people from throwing out food. I take full responsibility for not connecting that 14 ounces might not be 300 ml, but you might want to consider changing the notation of using “1 can”, which for many folks would be incorrect advice.
I’m sorry 🙁 I wasn’t familiar with the sizes of the cans in the USA. I’ll make a note that it’s 10 oz in the recipe.
What a unique no-bake dessert idea! I’m going to have to try these!

It sounds crazy but looks so good! Can’t wait to try!
Ramen noodles! Stacie great share just pinned a must try indeed.
When I saw PB & Chocolate I knew I had to check these out; they sound so easy and delicious. We always have ramen noodles in our house; my boys love them! Often they’ll cook them up as noodles and use them with leftover spaghetti sauce. I save the flavoring packets to use in soups and stews in place of bullion cubes.
