Love pecan pie’s nutty, buttery flavor and cheesecake’s smooth, rich taste? Then this easy pecan pie cheesecake recipe is for you! You don’t need fancy tools or a water bath—just a pre-made pie shell, and you’re ready.

I can’t decide if the best part is the rich cheesecake filling or the sweet, crunchy pecan topping. Together, they’re a match made in heaven.

I was so pleased with how this cheesecake turned out. It will be a recipe that I’ll be making again and again. I gave a few pieces to my mom and friend, who told me they were some of the best desserts I’d made. That made me happy!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • No corn syrup needed: The pecan layer is sweetened with caramel sauce, so you skip the corn syrup entirely.
  • Best of both worlds: Rich cheesecake meets sweet, nutty pecan pie. It’s a combo made in dessert heaven!
  • Butter pecan flavor: Tastes just like a butter pecan dessert, with that cozy, buttery flavor.
  • Showstopper dessert: Perfect for gatherings, this dessert looks as impressive as it tastes!

    • 9-inch deep dish pie shell: Saves time and makes it easy—just grab a pre-made pie shell.
    • Cream cheese: This is the base of that creamy cheesecake layer.
    • Sugar: Adds sweetness to the cheesecake filling.
    • Eggs: Helps hold everything together and give the cheesecake a silky texture.
    • Vanilla extract: Adds a warm, classic flavor to the cheesecake layer.
    • Pecan halves: They give the pie a classic pecan crunch and nutty flavor.
    • Caramel ice cream topping: Sweetens the pecan layer, giving it a rich caramel flavor. Try my homemade caramel sauce.

    What to Serve with It

This pie is delicious by itself, but if you want to take it up a notch, drizzle extra caramel on top or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. Perfect for ending a meal or as a treat with a cup of coffee!

    Try it with:

A slice of cheesecake on a serving spatula.

    Variations and Substitutions

    • Graham cracker crust: Swap the pie shell for a homemade graham cracker crust if you prefer.
    • Maple flavor: Use maple syrup instead of caramel for a unique twist.
    • Homemade caramel: Make your own caramel with brown sugar and butter.
    • Bars instead of pie: Bake it in a 9×13 inch pan and cut it into bars.
    • Use another nut. Walnuts work well and bring a buttery, rich flavor.

    Storage Instructions

Store the cheesecake in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

    Can I Freeze It?

Yes! Bake and cool it completely, then store it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.

    Recipe Tips and Tricks

    • Make it ahead: Perfect for the holidays! Make it a day or two ahead, and it’ll keep well in the fridge.
    • Cool before slicing: It’s tempting, but letting it cool completely makes for neater slices.
    • Even layering: Spread the cheesecake filling evenly to ensure it bakes perfectly.
    • Make in a 9×13 pan. Spread the pie crust in the bottom of the pan, add the layers, and bake as directed. It makes great cheesecake bars!
    • No water bath is needed. This recipe bakes perfectly without one, so no need for extra steps.
