    Variations and Substitutions

    • Graham cracker crust – Any flavor or variety of graham cracker crust will work perfectly.
    • Crunchy peanut butter – Try it with crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy.
    • Different Flavor Pudding – A dark chocolate or vanilla pudding will taste delicious.
    • Almond butter or Nutella – Change the nut or seed butter you use.

    Storage Instructions

Keep in the fridge for up to 1 week, and freeze for up to 3 months. Keep it in an airtight container so it doesn’t dry out.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Tips and Tricks

    • Make sure the cream cheese and peanut butter mixture is mixed completely. It will be thick, so make sure that everything is incorporated.
    • Add the pudding mixture to the peanut butter mixture slowly. Mix it well in between spoonfuls.
    • Carefully fold in the whipped cream. If you mix it too much it won’t be as fluffy as you want it to be.

    Can I Make Ahead?

Yes, you can make this ahead of time. You can keep the pies in the refrigerator for up to three days or store them in the freezer for about a month.

    Pie Crust Options

You can also use a graham cracker crust or make it on top of an Oreo cookie crust.

Make your own pie crust with graham crackers and melted butter in a food processor if you have time. Keep processing unit the graham crackers turn into fine crumbs. Then, press the mixture into the bottom of a pie plate.

The graham cracker crust is the best part of the pie. It perfectly complements the peanut butter pie filling that rests on top.

    Mix-Ins

Have fun and add some mix-ins like chocolate chips, chopped-up candy bars, chopped-up cookies, or even dark chocolate shavings right into the filling. If you mix in other ingredients, make sure they are chopped up into tiny pieces. Cookie crumbs are the size that you want to aim for.

    Garnish Ideas

You don’t need to, but you can garnish each slice with chopped peanuts, Reese pieces, peanut butter cups, or melted peanut butter and chocolate sauce. Instead of whipped cream, drizzle some melted chocolate on top.

Can I Use Natural Peanut Butter?

No, I don’t recommend using natural peanut butter in the pie. It is the wrong texture. You need the oils that are mixed into the classic peanut butter.
