What’s sinfully sweet with a perfect chocolatey crunch? This Chocolate Pecan Pie. It’s easy to make and the perfect dessert for all you chocolate lovers out there.
I puffy heart LOVE Pecan Pie. If my waist line would allow it, I could probably eat a whole pie myself. Ok, maybe not the whole pie, but you get the idea. There’s just something magical about the gooey caramel-y filling with toasty pecans sprinkled throughout.
Chocolate Pecan Pie is just as good, in my opinion. My fiancé loves anything chocolate so I made this pie just for him. He understands my appreciation for a good Pecan Pie and I wanted to make something that I knew he would enjoy, too.
Good news is that he loved it. He is always honest with my recipes and will tell me when something doesn’t work for him. He said this pie was a keeper and to make it again for him. Sure will, Matty.
Chocolate Pecan Pie Ingredients
I used a frozen 9-inch deep dish pie shell for this recipe to save time. If you have a good pie crust recipe, feel free to use that instead.
You’ll also need:
- Semisweet chocolate
- Evaporated milk
- Vanilla extract
- Chopped pecans
How to Make Chocolate Pecan Pie
Start by adding the semisweet chocolate, evaporated milk and butter to a small sauce pan on medium low heat. Stir the mixture frequently until it fully melts.
In a large bowl, stir together the eggs, sugar, flour, salt and vanilla. Gradually stir this mixture into the chocolate mixture. Mix in the chopped pecans.
Pour the mixture into the frozen, unbaked pie shell and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 375F for 40 minutes or until the top is firm and set. Cool the pie completely before serving.
I like to put my pie on a baking sheet just in case they spill over and make a mess of my oven.

Yes, you can. Make sure it’s properly wrapped in foil or freezer wrap and store in your freezer for up to 2 months.
