It’s that time of year again. Slow cooker season! I should say that I use my slow cooker all year round, but usually hold off on sharing any slow cooker recipes until the cooler weather hits. Fall is here and I’m sharing the most delicious slow cooker chicken recipe you’ll ever make!
Slow Cooker 40 Clove Garlic Chicken
I’m not even joking here. This Slow Cooker 40 Clove Garlic Chicken is so flavourful and tender that you’ll likely agree with me once you make it for yourself.
Don’t be scared off by the fact that there is 40 cloves of garlic in this recipe. The flavours are not overpowering and subtle enough so that every bite has the perfect hint of garlic. When you cook garlic, it becomes soft, creamy and slightly sweet. You can eat each clove on their own or spread it on your chicken or a piece of bread. I pop them into my mouth like I would a mini potato.
I’ve seen lots of recipes for 40 Clove Garlic Chicken, but I’m partial to my recipe. It’s one you’ll end up making again and again.
I used chicken drumsticks, but feel free to substitute another cut of chicken. I like drumsticks because they are so juicy and fall-off-the-bone-tender when cooked in a slow cooker.
One time-saving tip is to buy already peeled garlic so you don’t spend an hour peeling 40 cloves of garlic. Look for the jars in the produce section of your grocery store. They make this recipe pretty much a dump and go type of meal.
Your house will smell amazing with this recipe cooking all day. Don’t open the lid to peek though! That’s a big slow cooker no-no because you let the heat escape.
I hope you enjoy this meal as much as I do!
