A Homemade Christmas Gift Idea
A homemade gift is from the heart.
Have you started your holiday preparations? I’ve been making my lists and picking up a few things here and there. This year, I’m putting a big focus on homemade gifts. In the past, I’ve given out homemade beauty products like soaps and scrubs. People love getting handmade gifts because they know that you put your love and attention into making them. For this Christmas season, I’m baking cookies! Everyone loves a yummy Christmas cookie especially my grandma’s recipe for Snickerdoodles.
If you love the flavours of sugar and cinnamon, you’ll enjoy Snickerdoodles. They are perfectly sweet and spicy. Plus, they are super easy to whip up. It’s a great recipe to get the kids to help you out with in the kitchen.
John’s family is in New Brunswick so we have to ship our gifts down to them. Just because someone lives far away doesn’t mean that they can’t enjoy your favourite baked good recipe. I’m sending our relatives a batch of Snickerdoodles. Put them in a festive tin to keep them fresh.
I know when John’s mom opens the tin, she’ll be met with a delicious cinnamon scent. I had to stop myself from eating them all. Trust me, I wanted to!
Add this cookie recipe to your holiday baking list. Keep some for yourself and save some for gifts!
My favourite tape for wrapping gifts is Scotch™ Brand Magic Tape. I love that it’s high quality and gets the job done with ease. Wrapping presents isn’t something I enjoy doing, but it has to be done!
Now, I could just stop there and slap on a gift tag and call it a day. Instead, I took things an extra festive step and added Scotch™ Brand Expressions Glitter Tape to decorate the package. Bridget, my daughter, saw me working on the gift and offered to help me out.
Together, we created this cute Christmas-y bow in sparkly glitter. I think it adds a nice, personal touch to the gift. It didn’t take long to create either.
As a finishing touch, I added more Scotch™ Brand Expressions Glitter Tape to the gift tag. I wish I was there to see John’s mom and dad’s faces when they open their package.
I want to make sure that my gift package arrives safe and sound. I found a sturdy box and wrapped it in brown shipping paper taped securely with Scotch™ Brand Shipping Packaging Tape.
I feel better knowing that my package is wrapped up securely and will make it to its destination intact. If you are shipping gifts this holiday season, I highly recommend you pick up some Scotch™ Brand Shipping Packaging Tape to wrap up your parcels.

Now this is the kind of stuff I like getting for Christmas! Sounds delicious.
I agree I love getting homemade instead of wasting money on dollar store junk.
I do give homemade goodies and crafts and sure enjoy receiving them. The Snickierdoodles sound yummy.
Nothing beats homemade! This Christmas I am knitting my gifts.. And I think baking now, too – thank you for the idea 🙂 These snickerdoodles look so very yummy!
Ummmm…. these snickerdoodles look super yummy, thx very much for the recipe.
I’ve never eaten Snickerdoodles but they do sound very Christmasy and delicious. 🙂
I love receiving and giving handmade gifts. I do a lot of knitting-sweaters, slippers, hats, cowls and mittens. I have also done knitted clothes for Barbie as they are easier to dress and undress on the dolls. I have made some very fancy ones. I love Christmas.
Those cookies look so good! I love to give treats like this as Christmas gifts. There’s a certain cozy, old school feel that you can only get with gifts like that.
Nothing beats homemade treats for gifts. I love that wrapping job you did. A gift like this really shows you care because you took the time to make it so special.
I have always liked homemade gifts. I like especially homemade gifts that are edible. I love cookies and cakes and pies. This would be a fun idea to do for my kiddos teacher.
