Add vegetable oil to a large pot over medium heat. Add chicken, onion and garlic and stir to combine. Cook for about 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked and onions are softened.
Add the white kidney beans, green salsa, chicken broth, corn, chili powder and season with salt and pepper. Stir.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 30 minutes, uncovered. Serve hot.
Garnish with green onions and/or sour cream, if desired.
