Old-Fashioned Maple Syrup Pie
Easy maple syrup pie made with pure maple syrup has a rich, gooey filling and a flaky crust. A simple fall dessert for Thanksgiving or the holidays.

pure maple syrup

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs, and cream until smooth.
Slowly whisk in the melted butter.
Whisk in flour, vanilla, and salt.
Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
Cool completely before slicing so it sets properly. Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Notes
Use pure maple syrup, not pancake syrup, for the best flavor.
The center should still have a slight jiggle when the pie comes out of the oven. It will continue to set as it cools.
Place the pie on a baking sheet while it bakes in case the filling bubbles over.
Let the pie cool completely before slicing. Chill it first if you want cleaner slices.
Serve chilled or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
