Tender savory Swedish Meatballs are filled with rich savory flavors simmered in the perfect sauce. Serve these meatballs with noodles or pasta! You can make your very own Ikea-stye Swedish meatballs at home! 

Step 1

Prepare the meatball and sauce ingredients by measuring everything out ahead of time. Measure the ground beef, breadcrumbs, olive oil, onion, ground cloves, parsley, garlic salt, butter, flour, beef broth, and milk.

Step 2

In a medium sized bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, olive oil, onion and spices. Using your hands, combine the ingredients until everything is evenly distributed.

Next, after everything is mixed together, prepare the meatballs with your hands by rolling the beef into small balls.

Prepare all the meatballs while a large skillet heats with oil over medium heat. 

Step 5

Place the meatballs in the heated skillet with the oil and cook them until browned on both sides. Remove the meatballs from the skillet.

Step 6

With the same hot skillet, add the butter and flour and mix until combined. 

Step 7

Add the beef broth and milk to the skillet and stir constantly until the mixture is thick.

Step 8

This is what the sauce should look like for the meatballs. Now you can place the meatballs back into the skillet to cook some more. They will need to reach an internal temp of 165°F.


Serve the cooked meatballs hot with the savory sauce with mashed potatoes, meat, cranberry sauce, noodles, and more.
