I’ve been seeing more recipes featuring pulses over the last couple years and for good reasons too. Not only are pulses delicious and affordable, but they are also very healthy for you. They are packed full of important nutritional benefits like being a low-fat source of protein, high in soluble fibre and lots of vitamins and minerals. They also help maintain healthy blood sugar levels and have no trans fat.
I have an easy way you can add more pulses to your diet: Country Harvest Canadian Rustic Bean Bread. I recently tried a loaf to share with my family and we quickly became fans. I’m not really surprised though as we regularly buy Country Harvest bread and eat it on a regular basis for breakfast as toast and for lunch to make sandwiches.
Did you know that Country Harvest is the first national brand to ever launch a pulse grain bread? It’s made with a blend of chickpeas, beans, lentils and peas. You can expect the same great quality and taste we know and love from this trusted brand. It’s bread you can feel good about serving to your family because of all the nutrition that’s packed into each slice.
Each serving contains 22g of whole grains, 6g of protein (the equivalent of one extra-large poached egg) and 3g of fibre (the equivalent of one small banana). That’s a whole lot of goodness right there!
Country Harvest shared with me some heart-healthy sandwich recipes and I made one of them to share with my family. This Sunrise Power Berry Pulse Toast is my kind of breakfast!
It all starts with a lightly toasted slice of Country Harvest Canadian Rustic Bean Bread. Top with a sweet creamy ricotta honey spread and fresh mixed berries. Add a sprinkling of slivered almonds and a drizzle of honey on top and you have yourself a tasty and healthy breakfast to fuel your mornings.
This breakfast is perfect to serve when you have company over and want to get food on the table quickly. I doubled the recipe for my family and it received rave reviews.
Besides the nutritional benefits and yummy flavour, Country Harvest Canadian Rustic Bean Bread also contributes to environmental sustainability. Pulses are a low carbon footprint food and are also water-efficient. They are grown around the world, but the pulses used in the Canadian Rustic Bean Bread are sourced for Western Canada. The bread is also endorsed by PULSE Canada. It feels good to support Canadian products!
Ready to try out Country Harvest Canadian Rustic Bean Bread and this mouthwatering breakfast recipe? Visit your local Loblaws, No-Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Zehrs, Your Independent Grocer, Fortinos or Save-On Foods and pick up a loaf. It has a SRP of $2.79. I’d love to hear what you think about it!

Hi stacie,
Question here’s where can I buy Canadian Rustic Beans Bread in the US, or I have to order online?
Thank you,
Salee

I’m not sure where to buy it outside of Canada. Country Harvest has a contact form and phone number so that would be your best bet to find out for sure: https://countryharvest.com/en/contact/
