For young dog lovers, Cooper and Me™ and the Winter Adventure! is the perfect holiday children’s picture book. The main character is an adorable dog named Cooper. He heads off for some winter fun with a cast of furry friends and then gets lost along the way. Cooper and Bella are scared but with the help of other canine friends they manage to find their way home at last.
The rhyming text written by Monique Peters and her 11 year old daughter, Alexa Peters is engaging for all three of my children ages 4, 5 and 6. One evening, it was particularly quiet so I went to check on the kids. I discovered my two youngest curled up next to my six year old son who was reading this story to them aloud and they were captivated.
Each book in the Cooper and Me™ series includes interactive features such as a “Special Memory Creation”, Life Lessons, Connections and Learning Together. In this particular title, it opened up a discussion for us regarding what would happen if they were to be separated or get lost from us. My four year old son recalled a time that he was lost for a few minutes at a Monster Truck show and he (and my husband and I) were terrified that we had gotten separated.
Alexa Peters is a very talented young author and even illustrated some of the delightful pictures in the book along with Melissa Peterson.
My children really enjoyed this book as well as other books in the Cooper and Me™ series. There is even a fun free theme song that you can download with the purchase of this book too.
In the spirit of giving, you can also feel good because $1 of every Winter Adventure book sold “will go to advance research & treatment of pancreatic cancer, via the Lustgarten Foundation.”
