I may be just a tad obsessed with printables.
I think part of the reason is that I like to be super organized. I’m in my element when everything is laid out clearly in front of me. I can’t stand a mess of paperwork. With my finances, I’m meticulous. I know what it’s like to have no money and wonder where the heck all the money went.
After my divorce, I straightened myself out financially. It took years to get back on my feet and developing good financial organizational habits played a big role. I always know what bills are due and when. I know who I owe and and how much. I check into my finances almost on a daily basis. I want to make sure there is nothing funky going on (I was a victim of credit card fraud years ago) AND it helps me keep a pulse on where I currently stand. Knowledge is power.
Side note – I remember my auditing professor in college telling us about a friend who didn’t check her bank account balance for six months. During that time, she was a victim of fraud and someone was taking out money on a regular basis without her having a clue. She must have had a healthy balance or I’m sure she would have noticed if it had been completely empty. This may be an extreme example, but I always remember it when I think about the importance of staying on top of your finances.
Back to printables. These are helpful if you keep a household binder. You’ll be organized, always know where you stand financially and most importantly, be in control of your money.
This 2016 Financial Planner set of printables includes the following printables:
- Bill Tracker
- Monthly Budget
- Monthly Bill Pay
- Daily Spending
- Account Tracker
- Debt Payoff
- Saving Tracker
I have a binder that I put these sheets in. Print more out as you need them throughout the year. I’m old school where I still like to put pen to paper versus keeping everything online.
How do you organize your family’s finances?
Update: My 2021 Financial Planner is now in stock in my new shop! I also have a 2021 Organizing Bundle with all the printable sets.
