The switch to Daylight Savings Time is coming up this weekend and I’m looking forward to that extra hour of sleep and sunshine. This winter has been brutal! This time of year serves as a reminder to get a few important tasks done. I know we all already know to change the batteries in the smoke detectors and flip our mattresses. Today, I have a few other important reminders that you may not have thought of!
1. Replace your toothbrushes. The Canadian Dental Association recommends changing your toothbrush every three months. One tip is to place a smiley face sticker at the start of every third month so you don’t forget to buy new toothbrushes for your family.
2. Check your medicine cabinet for expiry dates. Medication doesn’t last forever and that includes vitamins and supplements. Schedule a calendar reminder twice a year, like when the time changes, to empty it out and look for dates.
3. Change the baking soda in your fridge. Placing a box of Arm & Hammer™ Fridge-n-Freezer™ or Fridge Fresh™ Baking Soda in your fridge or freezer helps eliminate odours and keep your fridge smelling fresh. It’s easy to forget the box in there. I’ve forgotten myself, too. One tip is to jot down a replacement reminder on the box for a month’s time to help maintain odour elimination and make sure your food stays fresher, longer.
4. Stay healthy. It’s important to maintain your healthy habits including eating fruits and veggies, drinking lots of water and taking your vitamins. Vitafusion™ Vitamin D is a great addition to your routine especially after a long winter that inhibits Vitamin D production in the body. It’s a delicious gummy and is the perfect alternative to a hard-to-swallow pill. Add a reminder to your calendar to start taking a supplement. Did you know that very few foods contain Vitamin D which makes it necessary to take a supplement to get the recommended amount? Vitamin D supports bone and teeth health.
What are some other calendar reminders to consider?

Good reminders! Also important to check on the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and “Spring Forward” is a good time to do it.

I also like to check for expiration dates on fridge items.
