Canadians love Astro Original Greek Yogourt and in fact, it’s actually their absolute favourite! Parmalat Canada recently announced that Astro Original Greek yogourt won the 2012 Best New Product Award in the Yogourt category! The winners are determined by BrandSpark International Canadian Shopper Study, which surveyed more than 53,000 independent consumers who voted in 53 categories. I think they made the right choice because it’s really good!
I tried Greek yogourt last year at BlogHer and I loved it. I tried to find it in stores when I came home to Canada, but my local stores didn’t carry it. I’m ecstatic that I can actually buy it in my area now!
Greek yogourt is thicker and creamier than regular yogourt. I much prefer it over traditional yogourt because of its richer flavour. Astro Original Greek yogourt is available in three flavours: Plain, Honey and Strawberry. The fat free version is available in Strawberry and Peach. It also has 2x more protein than regular Astro yogourt and is an excellent source of Calcium.
I bought the plain flavour because I’m planning to use it in an eggplant dip recipe which I’ll be sharing with you soon. I also like to mix the cereal Grape Nuts into yogourt for breakfast. It’s good- you should try it!
The yogourt also tastes great in a smoothie! I blended some frozen berries, Astro Original Greek yogourt and some milk in my blender. It comes out thick, smooth and filling and perfect for a healthy breakfast or lunch.
Astro Original Greek yogourt is now available in stores across Canada. I encourage you to try it out and see why it’s #1!
