It’s hard to believe that I am now the mother of a teenager. It makes me feel so old! My oldest daughter, Olivia, turned 13 this past July and will be starting junior high at a new school. I can remember the day she was born and it really doesn’t feel that long ago. She’s growing up so fast and it makes me both happy and sad at the same time!
I remember how tumultuous my teenage years were and I hope she fares out better than I did. I learned many hard lessons and I hope she has a better head on her shoulders than me at her age. I’m pretty confident she does and she is a good kid.
With her going into junior high, it will mean much more homework. I’m wondering how much things have changed since I was in high school 15 years ago. Technology is much more prevalent now. When I was in high school we didn’t do research on the Internet. Instead, we went to the library. I’m actually saving up to buy Olivia her own laptop for her school work.
I’ve already started my back-to-school shopping- have you? One place to check out is Tiny Prints and see what they have to offer for back-to-school shopping. They have many of the essentials like notebooks, labels, activity planners and more. I like their section for Teens for Olivia and the one for Parents for me. Am I ready? I hope so!
