Impossible Cheeseburger Pie

“This is the BEST savory pie ever”, says my boyfriend, Matty. He loved this recipe so much that he ate almost the whole pie himself. I was able to snag a piece and let me tell you, he’s right. It’s delicious!

I’m a big fan of Impossible Pies that gained fame in the 1970s. The original recipe was shared on the back of a box of Bisquick mix. I love making them because they are just so dang easy and I always have great results.

    1. Can this be made up to the point of baking and left in the fridge overnight for the hubby to toss in the oven the next night??

    2. Could I double the recipe and bake in a 13X9 casserole dish instead? Same cook time and temp.?

      1. Yes, double the recipe for that size and use the same oven temp. For the time, I would check it at the 25 minute mark and see if it needs more time to bake.

    3. Can you add all the vegetables of a regular cheese burger before baking or put those on top before serving?

This was really good, and super easy! Kid and hubs liked a lot! Looking forward to next time – going to add chopped up mushrooms (sauteed to get the moisture out) and BACON!

    5. If you freeze, do you defrost before re heating or do you cook from frozen please? Also what temperate either way and how long.
We only ate half the pie, just hubby and me.

      1. No, don’t defrost. Bake from frozen at 350F. Check it at 25 to 30 minutes and see if it needs more time.

    6. Can you use flour instead of bisquick

    7. My new favorite meal. Easy and delicious. I think next time will some chopped broccoli.

    8. This was good and reminiscent of the cheeseburger pies that I made in the 70’s and 80’s but the addition of onion soup mix was overwhelming.  I think that I’ll revert to my old recipes when craving a bit of nostalgia.

    9. Our favorite (before my mom became allergic) was the Seafood Impossible pie with shrimp, green onions, and cream cheese. I also make a low carb version of the cheeseburger pie that is nice for easy meal prep — add bacon bit if you have them #YoullThankMeLater 🙂 You can also do a faux breakfast Quiche with breakfast sausage in place of the hamburger

    10. I like it very much to eat
