Staying Connected with Summer Fun
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Mobile Shop. All opinions are 100% mine.
Canada’s 150th birthday may have already come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end! In fact, I think it’s just the beginning of summer fun. To me, summer is all about making connections. We connect to each other in a variety of ways both in person and through our mobile devices. I’m excited that summer is finally here (hello nice weather!) and am ready to spend time making memories with the people I love the most.
Because of its versatility, my smartphone from The Mobile Shop will always be with me. It’s the key to capturing memories, staying organized, party planning and more. Who knew something so small could offer so much value?! I’ve mentioned before that I’d be lost without my phone. It’s my little sidekick that keeps me on track and will help make this summer the best one yet (I hope!).
Our summer is going to be jam-packed with lots of fun activities, parties and other milestones. Here’s a peek at what’s in store for me and the important role my smartphone plays in making it happen!
1. BBQs. I practically live outside by the grill in the summer. Just call me “Grill Master”. I’ve been BBQing almost daily since our kitchen renovation in June. I love spending time in the sunshine and the smell of freshly cooked BBQ food always makes me hungry. Plus, it’s food my picky kids will eat. I’ve been using my cell phone to search Pinterest for new grilling recipes to try.
2. My daughter’s graduation. This summer marks my oldest daughter’s last year at home. Sniff, sniff. She’s going to university in London, ON in the fall. I brought my cell phone with me to her graduation ceremony to take photos of this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. She was the recipient of a major award at her graduation and we couldn’t be more proud of her. I’ll be snapping lots of photos of her this summer because I’m going to miss her like crazy when she moves out.
3. Busy work schedule. Yes, I’ll have to work in the summer, but I plan to use my cell phone to get what I need to done. That’s one of the perks of being a blogger – I can work from anywhere and do it right from my smartphone! Plus, both kids are working this summer, too so I’ll need the calendar on my phone to organize our schedules. Olivia works at a local grocery store and Bridget is helping out in the horse stables this summer.
4. Road trip. We are hoping to take a short family road trip later this summer. Where is still up for debate although my vote goes towards Niagara Falls! I’m not bringing my DSLR and will be only taking along my cell phone to take photos of our adventure. Plus, I’ll be using apps on my phone so we don’t get lost and can find the cheapest spots for gas and hotels.
During our travels, I plan to stop into The Mobile Shop to make sure Olivia is all set for university in the fall. I want to make sure she has the right plan and phone for her needs. She’s due for a new phone and The Mobile Shop is the perfect spot for her to pick one out. They have a ton of selection of all the latest smartphones and plans and I know they’ll be able to help her find the right one.
I’d love to hear about your summer plans and how you are staying connected this summer!
We had a trip across Canada planned but my health will not allow that, we booked Banff and Jasper and had to cancel, hopefully in August but for now close to home is best
We did our big vacation towards the beginning of summer because it was cheaper. I would love to go on another small vacation over the summer maybe just heading north for a few days. If we stay connected with her cell phone all the time. Most of my family does not live here so I need my cell phone to stay connected with everybody.
When I’m home, we’re not doing anything except relaxing. That’s because I’ve been traveling a lot for work, and the fam just wants to hang out when I’m at home.
What an awesome round up of what’s going on in your summer! Our summer is pretty boring…the boyfriend is working, I’m staying in the air conditioning trying not to melt in the Southern California desert. Usually we have something planned, but this year, we are just enjoying peace and quiet!
Great round up!!! Your girls are always SOOOOO gorgeous Stacie!!!!!
These are definitely important uses for your phone! A summer without being able to connect would be pretty difficult nowadays!
Saying that you use a phone every single day it’d be so hard not to use it over summer. Summer is also such an important time for taking photos and stuff.
I got a new Galaxy 8 and am using that to stay connected this year. I really love all the features it has to keep me connected.
I hope you get to go on your road trip! I remember my last summer home (I never moved back… but sometimes wish I did)- my mom took me on a cruise and it was magical!
We don’t have a whole lot planned this summer. We have gone to a waterpark already though. My girls were so excited about that!
