Fight Child Hunger with cuddle+kind #onemillionmeals #cuddleandkind
I have to say that I feel truly inspired by parents, Derek and Jen Woodgate. They watched a documentary on child hunger and were incredibly sad about how widespread it is. For most people, it would end there and they would go on with their lives. For Derek and Jen, it was different. They decided to do something about it. And they did…something awesome.
They created cuddle+kind, a collection of nine gorgeous handcrafted, knitted dolls created by artisans in Peru. The dolls are beautiful; Soft and cuddly and just waiting for little arms to give them a hug. They are also dolls for social good. Every cuddle+kind doll purchased will provide 10 meals to hungry children around the globe through charitable programs like World Food Program USA and Children’s Hunger Fund.
I watched their YouTube video about their endeavour and it brought tears to my eyes. I could see their passion for the cause. Their goal is to provide 1 million meals to children in need every year. I really want to see them succeed in their goal.
We can all help them reach their goal. They need our support to produce more dolls and in turn, provide more meals to kids in need. The dolls would make a wonderful birthday gift or shower gift. I’m starting to think about holiday shopping and know quite a few youngsters on my list would love one of these beautiful dolls.
They’ve launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money (and awareness). There’s a variety of price points depending on your budget. I was so happy to see that they ship worldwide. My daughter and niece would love a doll! I’d get Chelsea the Cat for Bridget and Chloe the Bunny for Avery.
Plus, there are other ways you can help too. Until October 16th, cuddle+kind will provide one meal to a child in need for every new follower they gain on Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook. Please join me in following them!
