Help Us Find Rudy #RootingForRudy
My heart is breaking right now. On Friday, one of the Facebook pages I follow, Peterbald Kittens Canada, posted a status looking for a lost baby kitten. four month old, Rudy, a male Peterbald kitten, had gone missing at the Atlanta, Georgia airport. He was enroute to his new home in Florida with Delta Airlines from the breeder in British Columbia. Sometime during the night on June 4th, something heavy fell on Rudy’s crate and it opened up. Rudy was able to escape through the small opening leaving his diaper stuck in the cage.
Rudy’s new mom is beside herself with worry as can be expected. I can’t even imagine how both she and the breeder are feeling right now. It’s just such an awful thing to happen. It makes me cry when I think of this poor sweet baby alone and scared at the airport. I’ve been praying for his safe return.
Yesterday, they got permission for a search dog to go into the airport to look for Rudy. Unfortunately, he wasn’t found. The dog picked up a strong scent of Rudy in a stairwell. Humane traps have been set there in hopes he’ll go back to that spot.
On the Help us find Rudy Facebook page, Rudy’s new mom posted that they are hiring their own private investigator to go in to look. It’s sad that they have to do this. I would be so mad if the airline lost my cat. However, I understand that they want to do everything they can to find him. I wouldn’t give up either.
$1,000 reward has been offered for Rudy’s safe return. If you are in the Atlanta area or at the airport, please keep your eyes open for him. He was last seen wearing a navy blue sweater and red jumper. Peterbalds are unique looking cats and have no hair so if you see a hairless cat at the airport there, 99.9% it’s probably Rudy.
A Gofundme has been set up to raise money to pay for advertising, private investigator to look for Rudy and possibly legal fees down the road. They are appreciative of anything you can contribute whether its a donation of money, time or simply sending a prayer for Rudy’s safe return.
You can also keep up with the search for Rudy on the Help us find Rudy Facebook page. I’m praying that Rudy is found alive and safe and can go home to his family.
I cried reading this post, the owner must have been so upset.I see that they have found the kitty I am so happy for him.Beautiful animal!
So happy they found him and he was ok!
I am so happy I found this story after Rudy was found! Great happy ending. What an adventure for the poor kitty.
OMGosh!! I’d be beside myself had this happened to me with my cat!! And like you said I would be somewhat mad at the airlines if they did not help or go out of their way to help locate the cat. But with all that said I am so glad the the family FOUND Rudy!!! What a relief and joy it had to be to get his safely. Thanks for the story Amazing
