Prepping for Valentine’s Day with la couleur couture

disclosure produt review

I’m not one to load on the makeup and prefer a more natural look. However, I do love to use my nails to express myself and change the colour at least once a week depending on the season and my mood. With Valentine’s day coming up soon, I’m wearing pinks and reds. I even tried to do some Valentine’s day nail art by painting some red hearts on my nails. They didn’t turn out so well though. I need more practice!

I was recently introduced to la couleur couture (lacc) who happen to have their headquarters in Vancouver, BC! Their line of nail lacquers are manufactured in New York. Their products are toxic-free, cruelty-free, vegan friendly and also are have a UV inhibitor. I like that they don’t have unwanted chemicals like parabens and formaldehyde. Even kids can wear them!

Take a peek through their collection and you’ll discover a wide range of hues. The colours are all numbers and the ones I got to try out are #2012 Basecoat, a vivid red #1941 and a hot pink #1950. I thought those two shades were perfect for Valentine’s day!

The basecoat goes on first to provide protection for your nails. It was dry in a matter of minutes and I was ready to apply my colour. I used two coats of the hot pink shade, #1950. I played a couple games of Candy Crush on my phone while I was waiting for them to dry. It didn’t take long before I was ready to get on with my day.

I love how smooth and shiny they look and that isn’t even with a top coat! They do have a top coat in the collection which is said to offer a “gel diamond-like shine”. I’m curious to try it out and see how much of a difference it will make.

la couleur-1

Canadians guess where you can buy la couleur couture nail lacquers? Shoppers Drug Mart! I’m there almost every week so I’ll be heading over to the beauty section on my next trip. They have an SRP of $12.99. Here is another list of online retailers and stores that carry their products if you aren’t near a Shoppers Drug Mart.

I think I’ll switch to the red for Valentine’s day. It suits the occasion.

Have a peek at their collection and find a colour you want to try!
