Summer Hair Care Survival Kit

My hair and humidity do not go together. Besides being in serious need of a hair cut and colour since moving to Ontario, I’ve also had to deal with frizziness. Ontario is 100 times worse than Nova Scotia in terms of humidity. I’ve got the hair to prove it!
Thankfully there are products that can help! I’m sure many of you also have to deal with the humid weather and the number it does to your hair. We can’t avoid the humidity but there are little things you can do to tame your tresses! Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Enhancer Spray (ARV $4.99) is a 7-in-1 wave enhancer spray to help you achieve the perfect “beach” hair look. Then apply the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Crème Pomade for curl control and to keep hair in check for up to 24 hours.
Another thing that you can’t really do in the summer months is forget is body hair. Oh joy. The Gillette Venus Snap with Embrace is new to Canada and the first of it’s kind. It’s a mini razor that comes with a travel case and Venus Embrace blade cartridge. It’s perfect to bring with you on vacation whether you’re jetting off somewhere tropical or heading for a weekend of camping. It also fits any Venus blade cartridge so you can use it with ones you currently have at home. You also don’t need shave gel. Water is all you need to get a soft smooth shave.
Have you experienced any “oh no” hair moments this summer? I’ll share one of mine. I was in a rush so I shaved my legs in the shower without my glasses, of course. I’m blind as a bat so couldn’t really see what I was doing. I thought I got all the hair, but then I was waiting in line at the license bureau to get my plates for my car and saw that I missed a long strip down the back of my calf. I felt so self-conscious standing there and couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Mental note: wear glasses to shave!
