Genuinely Simple Review

My daughter and I have extremely dry, eczema prone skin so I was very interested in testing the Comfrey Cream (SRP $6.99) on our skin. I have been reading books on herbal uses and learned that the comfrey plant has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Genuinely Simple recognizes that comfrey is a rich source of calcium, potassium, vitamins A, C and B12 and protein. It also contains a chemical called allantoin which may help “cell growth and bone strengthening while depressing inflammation”. Their Comfrey Cream was created for use on sprains, joint pain, joint stiffness, muscle pain and for basic wound care. This product even contains Calendula Flowers, olive oil and Shea butter so it can be used as an excellent muscle rub for men, women and children of all ages. When I first tried the Multi-Use Healing Salve Comfrey Cream, I was shocked at how a small amount of product goes a very, very long way. I was able to work a small dab into the entire sore area on my calves after a long bike ride and it absorbed beautifully into my skin. My husband has chronic joint pain and inflammation from a shoulder deformity at birth and will inevitably need a shoulder replacement. I have been applying a small amount of this product to the area every evening and he really likes how it feels. He also loves that it (the unscented) does not have a “girly” or medicinal scent to it and there is also fresh scents of lavender and peppermint essential oils to choose from too. My favorite for relaxing in the evening is the lavender and the peppermint is absolutely reinvigorating for me to use after a workout…..I love it! For my daughter, I use this product to soothe her cracked, sore spots that appear on her dry, eczema prone skin. She said that it feels very soothing and it has not caused any further irritation on her sensitive skin. It really seems to seal in moisture when I apply it after her bath when her skin is just lightly damp. Overall, this product has so many uses and is sure to become a staple in our home as we really like it.

Another product that we are using from Genuinely Simple are the Lotion Bars (SRP $5.99-$9.99 each) which are so creative and unique. These lotion bars are actually lotion that is in solid form at room temperature but when it is applied to the skin it transforms by melting into a thin layer so the lotion can be absorbed into the skin. It is infused with comfrey cream and it feels wonderful on our cracked heels and feet and Hannah’s rough, eczema prone elbows, ankles and knees. My favorite use personally is to apply the lotion bar to my hands and fingers where I have eczema outbreaks occasionally. It absorbs beautifully and feels wonderful soothing to my painful skin.
