I have a confession to make: I rarely wear a bra when I’m at home. It’s not that I don’t like wearing one or don’t need to wear one. My issue is the darn straps never stay up on my shoulders. I’m constantly reaching under my shirt and pulling them up. It’s quite embarrassing when I’m walking down the street or out grocery shopping and both straps have fallen half way down my arm. I pull them up as discreetly as I can when I think no one is looking, but I can’t help but feel self-conscious about it. I’m not sure if I have narrow shoulders or what, but it happens with every single one of my bras. I have them set the tightest they will go, but nothing helps. I even went as far as trying to safety pin them to my shirt, but I ended up sticking myself. That solution was a no-go.
I know I’m not the only one that has this problem. Paula Fraser, a Canadian entrepreneur from PEI, invented a product that allows me to comfortably wear my bras again. I was only recently introduced to the StrapDoctor and I’m so glad I found out about this product!
Paula teamed up with Sharon Phillips, a retired lingerie store owner, to bring the StrapDoctor to women all over the world. It’s really a simple (yet genius) idea that really does work!
The StrapDoctor is a small strip of material that goes under your bra strap. The rough side uses gripping technology to hold your strap in place while the smooth side is what goes against your skin. The StrapDoctor grips your bra and holds it in place so you no longer have slipping straps.
It’s clear and designed to be worn beneath your clothes and you can’t see it. No one will ever know its there unless you show them. Each pack comes with a pair of regular sized (12mm wide) and narrow sized (9mm wide) StrapDoctor strips. This way you can choose which one would be better suited for whatever bra you are wearing that day. I wear the regular size with my thicker strap bras.
Putting them in in the morning is a cinch. Once they are in place they stay there all day. I was amazed how well they worked. I no longer feel self-conscious out in public.
I was curious to see how comfortable it would be and was surprised that I didn’t even notice it at all. I even forgot I was wearing it.
You can transfer your StrapDoctor from bra to bra or leave it in place on one particular bra. You wash it with the bra in the washing machine. Don’t put it in the dryer though! I always hang my bras to dry anyways.
The StrapDoctor is sold in many lingerie stores across Canada. You can find a full list of retailers on their site. You can also purchase online directly from the StrapDoctor. Each package is $12.95 and comes with two pairs (regular and narrow). When you order three or more packages, the shipping is free. They ship worldwide with $3.00 shipping for USA & Canada and $4.00 shipping for International orders. I think it’s great that women everywhere can benefit from this amazing little invention.
Don’t let slipping straps be a reason you throw out a perfectly good bra. Thank you StrapDoctor for helping me with this annoying little problem!
Three readers are each going to win a StrapDoctor package like I reviewed!
