Celebrate Mom with Walmart Canada

Disclosure: I received a gift card as compensation for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

My mom and I are very close now, but it wasn’t always that way. I went through the typical teenage rebellion and gave my parents a difficult time. I thought I knew everything and didn’t want to listen to what my parents had to say. I know they were trying to do what was best for me and lead me down the right path. I’m truly sorry for some of things I said and did to my mom. I know she’s forgiven me and is happy that I’ve turned out ok. I guess it was just a phase and I’m grateful she didn’t disown me. I cringe thinking about my behaviour back then!

Now that I’m an adult, I have a different relationship with my mom. We talk on the phone everyday and she is one of my best friends. She helped me through my divorce and has done so much for my children too. My kids are extremely close to her and sometimes I think they prefer Grandma over me!

My mom is always the first person I call when I need advice. She listens and I value her suggestions and insights. I know she would do anything for me and I would do the same for her.

I admire my mom for many reasons. For starters, she’s a beautiful lady even in her late 50s. She has always taken care of herself. She’s kindhearted, caring and has a soft spot for animals. For instance, my mom is allergic to cats, but would never turn away a cat needing help. She took care of a stray that came around her place for a visit. She looked for his owners, but had no luck. She drove 2 hours to a no-kill shelter so he would have a chance to survive.

My mom is amazing and I’m so proud to call her “mom”.
