Title: A Year with Six Sisters’ Stuff: 52 Menu Plans, Recipes, and Ideas to Bring Families Together

Author: The Six Sisters

About the Book:

Filled with delicious tried-and-true family favorites and oh-so-easy-to-make dishes, A Year with Six Sisters’ Stuff features all-new recipes using basic ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Each menu is designed to make your dinner plans as easy as possible—and with such wide variety and a photograph accompanying every recipe in the book, you can easily mix and match menus to create a year’s worth of dinner ideas.

In addition, the Sisters share some of their favorite family dinner traditions and crafts, as well as 52 dinner conversation starters, a list of pantry staples, and, food storage plan for beginners.

My Review:

Last year around this time, I reviewed the cookbook, Six Sisters’ Stuff and have been referencing many of the recipes throughout the past year. The sisters are back this year with a brand new cookbook, A Year with Six Sisters’ Stuff featuring more of their yummy recipes, craft ideas and ideas for family bonding time.

The book features over 150 new recipes for entrees, side dishes and my favourite, desserts! Another cool thing about this book is the 52 menu ideas for a perfectly combined three course meal. Here’s an example of a menu: Cheeseburger Casserole, Honey Roasted Carrots and Caramel Oatmeal Cookies. Yum!

I love that all the recipes use easy to find ingredients that most of us probably have on hand or at least readily available at the local grocery store. There’s nothing more frustrating then cracking open a new cookbook only to discover strange ingredients that your small town grocer probably doesn’t even carry. With this book, there’s no need to worry about that!

Each recipe also has a photo alongside it so you know exactly what the recipe will look like (or at least supposed to look like!). It also makes my mouth water as I flip through the recipes to decide what to make!

Another thing I like about the recipes is that they aren’t at all pretentious. These are simple, no-fuss recipes that are tried and loved. I especially love all the comfort food recipe and no-bake desserts. There’s a recipe for No-Bake Reese’s Fudge Bars that is calling my name.

In addition to the recipes, there’s also fun crafts for the family to do like a Thankful Tablecloth and Personalized Plates. Then there’s helpful tips and tricks like the Measurement Conversion Chart and 52 Family Dinner Conversation Starters. I want to make the DIY Menu Board for my kitchen. What a great way to let everyone know what’s for dinner and keep yourself organized.

A Year with Six Sisters’ Stuff makes a great gift for someone just starting out or a friend who loves to try new recipes. I loved this book just as much as I did their first one!
