Glitter Off by OPI Review

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. Opinions expressed are my own.

I love wearing glitter nail lacquer, but I don’t love trying to get it off. It’s not impossible, but does take some extra effort (and strength) to remove with nail polish remover. It still doesn’t stop me from wearing it, but I always dread when it comes time to take it off.

Fans of glitter will be happy to learn that there’s an easier way to remove glitter (or dark) nail lacquer. OPI recently introduced, Glitter Off by OPI, a peel-able base coat that will make removing glitter nail lacquer a breeze. The difference is like night and day!

Glitter Off also protects nails and makes nail colours appear brighter. All you need to do is apply a thin coat to the nails first and then wait for it to dry completely. It will go on white, but dries clear.

Once it dries, then you can apply your glitter nail lacquer in as many coats to achieve your desired look. Don’t worry about not being able to get it off later. That will not be an issue when Glitter Off is applied first.

It’s meant to last a few days so you can change your nail look easily and frequently. I think it would be good to wear if you had a special occasion to attend and wanted to wear some glitter. It comes off easily so if you are doing any heavy housework, your nails may not stay perfect.

My daughter, Olivia, loves glitter and was happy to see that she would be able to wear it more often now with a little help from Glitter Off. I also won’t hesitate anymore about applying my favourite glitter to my nails!

Removing it couldn’t be easier. Just use a cuticle stick to gently push and peel the lacquer off the nail. This video demonstrates just how easy it is to do.

Glitter Off was launched in March 2014 and can be purchases at professional spas and salons across Canada for a SRP of $10.95.
