Here in Utah the storms are finally starting to clear out and we are beginning to experience warmer weather. And what better way to welcome spring than with Disney’s Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo, now on Blu-ray as of March 11, 2014. Get it now before it disappears once again into the Disney vault!
Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo follows the same format of the other Winnie the Pooh tales—characters interacting with the narrator, climbing on the letters, and the opening scene in Christopher Robin’s bedroom. But this time, Winnie the Pooh takes the back seat in the story and little Roo becomes the central character.
It’s Roo’s first Easter in the Hundred Acre Woods, and he’s looking forward to a great springtime celebration filled with laughter, fun, an egg hunt…and an Easter bunny! But Rabbit has other things in mind, and declares it a spring cleaning day instead. Rabbit’s no-fun policy doesn’t ruin it just for Roo, though. Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Kanga want to enjoy Easter, too!
Once Rabbit realizes that he is being selfish, he decides to attempt to fix things; unfortunately Rabbit’s idea of how to celebration Easter is still lacking in the fun department. It takes a Dickensian twist to help Rabbit discover the spirit of Easter and give Roo a celebration he can remember.
I always love an adventure in the Hundred Acre Woods with Pooh and his friends! This short film is from 2004, and somehow I missed seeing it. As always, I am impressed with the incredibly talented Jim Cummings, who lends his voice to both Pooh and Tigger.
Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo is a Winnie the Pooh adventure that you don’t want to miss out on. Featuring five catchy new songs, this Blu-ray will be sure to captivate your little ones. You won’t be able to stop yourself from singing along, too!
