Dippity-do Girls with Curls

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.

I have friends with naturally curly hair and I’ve always been envious of how pretty their hair is. To get my hair with those perfect corkscrew ringlets, I would need a good curling iron and a lot of hairspray. My hair has some natural wave to it, but only if I scrunch it up after my shower and put product in it to hold the shape. I’m also noticing something else with my hair. It’s becoming more curly as I age! I don’t know if it’s the new grey hairs cropping up or what. My hairdresser said that hair can change like that as we age. I’m not complaining though. I can dye the grey, and I’m loving the extra volume.

This month, Dippity-do is launching their newest product line made especially for “girls with curls”! It’s actually called Girls with Curls and it’s made specifically for girls and women who want their curls looking their best. No more dry, frizzy out-of-control curls!

Dippity-do Girls with Curls

The Girls with Curls line is botanically enriched with natural shea butter, coconut oil, aloe and vitamin E. It works to calm and smooth frizz and nourish and define curls so that they have the extra bounce like they are supposed to.

The pretty in pink product packaging is a feminine throwback to the 1960’s when curls were uncomplicated and carefree.

Girls with Curls Products

The Girls with Curls product line includes the following:

Curl Shampoo  (400 mL): This shampoo helps to eliminate frizz and silken and define curls. It’s enriched with coconut oil and shea butter to help keep hair hydrated and to prevent split ends and won’t leave hair weighed down. Plus it is sulfate and paraben free and is good for all types of curly and wavy hair.

Curl Conditioner (400 mL): The conditioner is formulated to eliminate frizz, control static and hydrate hair. It’s made with wheat proteins that fortify the hair and help to keep it shiny, supple and smooth. Plus it helps seal split ends and fortify damaged and frizz without making the hair feel heavy and dull. It is paraben free.

Curl Shaping Gelee (340g): A styling tool to define your curls or wavy locks and lets you shape, smooth and separate curls while keeping frizz at bay. It contains aloe and vitamin E and is alcohol and paraben free.

Curl Leave-In Curl Defining Cream (125 mL): A beauty balm to nourish and style your dry or damp hair. It’s also humidity resistant and has specialized curl shaping polymers to control volume and frizz. It’s made with sunflower seed oil and is colour safe and paraben free.

Curl Deep Conditioning Treatment (250 mL): This treatment nourishes, detangles and restores moisture to dry, damaged hair. It’s enriched with coconut oil and shea butter as well as a botanical blend of avocado, jojoba and borage oils. And it’s colour safe + paraben free.

I was curious to see how the shampoo and conditioner would work with my hair and if it would give a boost to my natural waves. The shampoo and conditioner both have a sweet pink bubble gum scent which I adore! My hair felt soft  and looked shiny and healthy afterwards. I used the Curl Defining Cream on my damp hair and scrunched it up to get some curl action going. After it dried, I thought my hair looked fuller and had a little more bounce than normal. Maybe I’ll have to put away my flat iron and leave my hair wavy more often.

I’ll be sharing Girls with Curls with my sister, Jillian. She has thick, naturally curly hair and I think she is really going to love these new products.

Dippity-do Girls with Curls collection will be launching this Spring! Each product will have a SRP of $6.99. Stay connected with Dippity-do on Facebook and be the first to know about their launch!
