SchoolLockers.com has a huge selection of lockers available for purchase online for school, sports and home organization. I home educate my three children and organizing our books, arts and crafts projects, sports equipment and science kits is one of our biggest challenges. Therefore, I was excited to learn that I could purchase an actual school locker from SchoolLockers.com making it the perfect organizational center of our home school area. I will admit that I hadn’t thought of this idea before but it is brilliant. Instead of using those bulky rubberized bins which store things but doesn’t help to keep things organized, a school locker is a creative and convenient product for this purpose.
I chose the Orange Kids Locker ($114.95) from SchoolLockers.com which is designed to be stylish in a vibrant orange color (you can choose from a variety of colors) as well as functional. I love that it is durable and perfect for organizing a home school area, a child’s bedroom, mud room, garage, school rooms and more. The design of the locker itself is sleek and not bulky at all so it fits nicely into the designated area without taking up a lot of valuable space. This kids’ locker is a large 15” wide x 15” deep x 54” high.
The Kids Locker was fairly easy to assemble and it took my husband and I just under 45 minutes to have it completely set up. My husband mentioned that he was impressed with the 16 gauge metal doors and the 16 gauge reinforced welded channel frames because he said it would make this locker more durable. It includes a shelf which is my favorite feature to maximize storage area along with 2 single prong wall hooks along with one double prong ceiling hook. It also has a stainless steel catch-free handle and a secure three point latch to keep any valuables secured (you can uses multiple lock styles with it too). I was a bit concerned about the free-standing locker falling over on my children but the size of the locker was specifically designed to discourage it from getting tipped over and it is the right height for a child. While my husband is still going to secure the locker in its designated space prior to that all three of my children ages 8, 7 and 6 tested opening it up and closing it numerous times without any issue of it starting to tip over as it stayed securely sitting on the 6” legs. If the locker is being used to store sports equipment or clothing, the louvered doors will help to promote ventilation and I like that this manufacturer uses premium paint for a scratch resistant finish. Overall, I am very pleased with this kids’ locker and plan to use it in our homeschool room for years to come. I may even purchase additional colors in this style (there are 30 colors available) so that each of my children will have a locker in their room for additional storage.
