Highlights Hidden Pictures Magazine Review
Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.
My three children ages 6, 7 and 8 absolutely love Highlights for Children books and magazines including Highlights, Hidden Puzzle Club, High Five, Which Way USA and Mathmania. We are especially fond of doing puzzles together as a family so I knew they would love the challenge of the Hidden Pictures® activity books.
Highlights Hidden Pictures books are a wonderful idea for indoor activities for the kids during the cold winter months, rainy days, long car rides, waiting in restaurants and just for fun. It would even make a creative and sure to be appreciated gift for Valentine’s Day or in Easter baskets.
Hidden Pictures® books include 32 pages of activities and are available in LET’S PLAY and EAGLE-EYE levels. Recommended as a starter for ages 3 to 6, LET’S PLAY books are packed with tons of hidden picture themed activities. My kids love finding the hidden pictures while using the stickers that are included and then take their time to color the interesting pictures. I homeschool my children and we have incorporated these books into our curriculum as it is a great way to encourage valuable learning skills such as concentration, paying attention to details and even teamwork when working together. It is not only educational but fun too and my children actually ask to “play” with their books during their free time too. We received four books for this review and my three children have only completed about half of the activities yet spent hours working in their books which makes this an excellent value.
When children are ready for more of a challenge they can enjoy the Hidden Pictures EAGLE-EYE books. Recommended for ages 6 to 9, these are more advanced puzzles to keep children focused and engaged on the activities. It includes more reading activities which my eight year old son enjoyed as he read the short story and then completed the activities independently. He thought that the jokes were funny (What did the rooster say to the cow? Cock-a-doodle moo!) and loved the crossword puzzles and more intricate hidden picture coloring pages.
