My five-year-old is very into playing games lately. Whenever we’re out at a toy store or a mass retailer, he likes to look through the board game aisles and see the different types of games there are to play. I love that he’s so into them – it makes it fun to play along with him! My two-and-a-half-year-old tries his best to play along too, and even if the game is a little too advanced for him we always try to find a way for him to participate. Just in time for holiday shopping, I’m happy to share a great new resource for fun and educational games for kids – Super Duper Publications.
We received an assortment of games from Super Duper Publications that both of my boys have been enjoying since they arrived. My husband and I have been able to spend some great quality time with the boys learning the new games, and we’re happy that the boys are learning while having fun. We received:
* Classifying Photo Fish – this is a magnetic game that both my boys are able to play. The concept is pretty simple, players take turns identifying objects from different categories and “grab” those items with the fishing pole. We had to help guide my little guy a bit, but my oldest was quick to identify the items and loved the fun of fishing. I love the sturdy tackle box carrying case for keeping all the pieces in one place! This game sells for $43.95.
* Turtle Talk – this game was too tough for my little guy, but a perfect fit for my five-year-old. This game revolves around gathering “turtle tokens” for answering questions correctly as you move your token around the board. This game is geared to help with language and speech and sells for $54.95.
* Magnetic Mealtime – both my boys love this one. This set includes a sturdy and colorful magnetic board and 48 magnetic tiles. We made a game of this one by challenging the boys to put together a healthy plate, then by identifying items by their food groups and whether they were good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert, or snacks. This set sells for $21.95.
* Go For The Dough – this is another game that’s great for my five-year-old. It’s a game meant to help children with word recall, describing and semantic flexibility by using synonyms, rhyming words, opposites and more. My son loves the play money aspect of the game. This game sells for $49.95.
The great thing about all of the games we received is the incredible quality. The boards and playing pieces are very well made and will last for years. The educational aspect of each of them really make them investment pieces, as learning will never go out of style! Any of these games would make a great holiday gift for your kids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or any child in your life who loves to play games. Beyond these games, Super Duper Publications also has a great selection of smaller items that would make great stocking stuffers – including their Ticklin’ Tongue Twister Pencils that are only $15.85 for a pack of 60.
Super Duper Publications was started back in 1986 by Sharon and Thomas Webber, who both wanted to make fun and easy-to-use therapy materials. Today they offer hundreds of colorful educational and therapy materials that children love. The Super Duper staff does everything they can to deliver great customer service and make sure they answer any questions or concerns you may have about their products.
