Photography Session with L. Rhodenizer Photography
Disclosure: I did not receive any compensation and I paid for this session out of my own pocket. I just really loved her work and had to share with all of you!
I’ve been wanting to get professional headshots that I could use on my site for what seems like forever. The picture I was using before was from 2009…shot by my ex-husband. It wasn’t the best quality and I really hated it. I just didn’t have a clue where to go for pictures! I was sure there was photographers in Halifax, but a four hour round-trip drive was not appealing to me.
Earlier this summer I was at my hair salon and was chatting with the girl that works at the front desk. She mentioned she had just had family photos done and I immediately asked who did them. I think I may have scared her a little with my excitement, but this was something I had been wanting forever it seemed! She told me to look up L. Rhodenizer Photography on Facebook and raved about how much she loved her photos. That night I sent a message to the page and Liana (the photographer) responded! We set up an appointment in September to meet so I could get my headshots.
The day of the shoot I was really nervous. I had trouble deciding what I was going to wear and how to do my hair. I ended up wearing a pink Tommy Hilfiger top my mom bought me last year. I straightened my hair and wore my makeup heavier than normal (as per Liana’s instructions). We met at park area in Kentville that was really pretty with lots of trees and hills. It was SOOOOOO windy that day though! I thought oh geez my hair is going to be so messed up!
Liana instantly made me feel comfortable. I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. Liana knew exactly what she was doing. She had me stand, sit, lie down and took the pictures from various positions (above, below, straight on). I remarked at her lens and she said it was a telephoto lens and she finds it really good for taking portrait shots.
She said that it would be about 2 weeks to get the DVD with all the images, but that she would share a few on her Facebook page so I could have a sneak peek. That night she had one up for me to check out! I shared them on my personal profile and now I’m going to share my favourites with you!
I’ve updated my About page and most of my social media profiles. I’m trying to convince John that we need to get couples photos. Poor guy is camera shy, but I think he’ll see that I’m right and we need to get them done 🙂
Check out L. Rhodenizer Photography on Facebook and if you are in the Annapolis Valley in NS, message Liana to book an appointment for some photos!
