iDeaPLAY Children’s Tablet Review
Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.
My three children were constantly begging me to use my personal tablet which made me leery because I worried that they might accidently access inappropriate content for their ages or break my device. Therefore, I am so excited to be able to introduce you to the new launch of the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet by iDeaUSA!
This exceptional children’s tablet for ages 4 and up is an Android device that was designed specifically with child safety as a number one priority. In fact, it is compliant with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) and as a parent, I appreciate that it gives me complete control over the device so that I can manage what my children can access at all times. Making the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet a “must-have” electronics device is that it is also a fully functional tablet that can be enjoyed by adults in the Regular Mode just like a regular Android device complete with internet capability such as Netflix, Skype, email access etc.
I appreciate that iDeaPLAY has features that were specifically created with children in mind as it has a 7” display with a vibrant screen, a silicone protective bumper to protect the tablet and the device itself is very lightweight for children and portable for use on the go. I love the vivid orange color of the silicone bumper which really stands out and makes it easy to find if it is inadvertently misplaced. Additional protective features which I consider to be exceptional is that the device is water resistant as well as drop resistant. Therefore, accidental drops may be minimized by the food safe, FDA silicone protective bumper. These protective features give me additional peace of mind because I was constantly on edge when the kids were previously playing with my other brand personal tablet which is much more fragile and designed for adult use.
We are a budget conscious family so I also appreciate that the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet is attractively priced at only $129 and yet it comes already pre-loaded and ready for action with child-friendly apps and premium content. I like that I can use the iDeaPLAY as both an educational tablet for learning within our homeschool and for my children’s entertainment during their free time. It is a great resource for long car rides, waiting for an appointment, rainy days or just for fun.
Keeping my children’s safety in mind, I can enter the Parental Manage Mode to give me complete control over what content they can view as well as which features they are able to access when in Kids Mode. It includes a customized version of Famigo software which was designed to regulate the tablet content and it automatically removes things that I don’t want my kids to access such as social media, chat and browser features as well as advertisements, pop up ads and ecommerce. I can also feel confident that their privacy is not going to be accessed or invaded either. Each week I will receive a weekly recap directly to my email providing me an update on which apps my children are currently using.
My children are really enjoying interacting with the pre-loaded apps that are included with the iDeaPLAY including Doodle Jump, Riptide GP, Shrek Forever, My First Zoo Kids ABC Alphabets, Color & Draw Math Bugaboo and many more. It also features a camera and calculator plus I can add their favorite age appropriate apps from Amazon’s app store as well as premium and free apps, movies, e-books and music from the iDeaApp Marketplace. There are so many options available and my children can even set up a “wish list” alerting me to new apps that they would like for me to consider adding to the tablet. My husband and I have a positive reinforcement reward system in our household set up for our children and they love that they can “earn” points through good actions to redeem for their favorite apps on the iDeaPLAY.
Overall, my children and I are very impressed with the new iDeaPLAY children’s tablet. I love that it is affordably priced without sacrificing child safety, quality and content or features. It is easy to use and designed for durability.
I am confident that the iDeaPLAY children’s tablet is going to be a big hit with both children and adults especially this holiday season. You can visit iDeaPLAY to learn more about this premium children’s tablet and you can purchase your own by visiting Amazon.com. It is also available at retailers including Fry’s Electronics and HEB stores in the United States.
Durability and affordability are both very important to me in choosing a toy. This does look like a winner.
Wow its like an iPad for kids. Maybe if my son had one of these we wouldn’t all be fighting over our 2 ipads lol
I like all the security measures. Kids, of course, want to play on your tablets. They offer fun and new things, but there are many dangers out there. First, they might access things you don’t want, send private information, or even break/lose it. This is a great option so you can feel confident and they can still play.
I was just shopping online today for a tablet for my 5 yr old. He loves my iPad but I am sick of sharing!! LOL This one looks great!
This sounds like a great tablet for kids! I’m going to suggest my daughter look into this for my grandson, he needs a tablet, it’s how he learns the best and she’s been wanting to get him one. The price on this is amazing and I love the features! Thanks for the great review!
I wanted to add that I was playing around with the iDeaPLAY Marketplace apps and was so impressed with the amount of apps that are free and age appropriate for both learning and entertainment games and books! It was hard to choose from all the fun free games and some of the other games/apps were are purchasing were only 99 cents to $1.99.
This looks like a really fun toy for kids – I always am nervous when I see little ones with tablets in their hands, but this one is made for them!
This sounds like a great tablet. I know my friend was talking about trying to find a kid friendly one so I will let her know about this one.
(iDeaPLAY Children’s Tablet Review) This sure sounds like a good tablet to have for young children. It really looks durable in case it gets dropped a lot.
This looks like it’s more appropriate for kids than iPads! I will certainly check IdeaPlay out!
I’m seeing more and more of these and think it’s so great that it helps them with their thinking and reflexes, etc. We turned out ok without the techy stuff though!
How neat is that! I’ve never seen this before! Thank you!

this looks like a super Christmas present for one of my grandchildren. It’s completely new to me (as is iDeaPLAY) and I do like the idea that it’s affordable and not an outrageous price. I also love the fact that it’s water resistant as well as drop resistant, (the later seeming to happen all the time with my grandchildren), a huge plus I find.
This looks awesome! And something that can last if accidently dropped by the kids unlike our expensive tablets!
really appreciate the Kids Mode and the fact that a child is using a device for a child and not an adult device.
Great way of keeping our kids’ hands off of our own tablets!
Thanks for the info on this tablet. I was wondering if anybody knew how to get Despicable Me uploaded to the IdeaPlay tablet. There’s a picture of a boy holding the tablet with it on the screen. My grandkids love that game, and I’d like to load it for them. Thank you.
Definitely a great idea for parents who aren’t able (or willing) to have an iPad, let alone allow their children to play with it. I’m not a fan of the Android OS, and personally find an Otterbox Defender case on an iPad proved more durability than any other designs out there (seriously, I dropped this thing on a hospital floor, and it’s still fine). The COPPA however is a great feature, and wish this is something Apple would add to their OS. Overall, I don’t think this is something I would buy for my son. But it is certainly a great option for other parents!
