The Green Golly Project is proud to introduce Green Golly & Her Golden Flute……… a modern interpretation of the classic fairy tale, Rapunzel which cleverly combines a narrated story within a beautiful picture book and classical music. This new children’s picture book and audio CD was inspired by the 2011 Parents’ Choice® Gold Award-Winning Green Golly & Her Golden Flute CD. It is written and performed by Keith Torgan and Barbara Siesel who are passionate about introducing children to the performing arts. Their love of the theatre and classical music is evident as this interpretation is very entertaining and lots of whimsical fun. The lovely illustrations by Suzanne Langelier-Lebeda really elevates the story and music and my children were captivated throughout.

Green Golly & Her Golden Flute

My eight year old son and seven year old daughter love to listen to different types of music including the classics. Therefore, they thought it was very interesting to hear the works of the great composers such as Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Gossec, Elgar, Bizet, Chopin and Copland come to life through the beautiful music of Barbara Siesel and her flute.

Green Golly & Her Golden Flute includes the hardcover picture book and an audio component which includes two parts. In the first part, there is narration along with musical selections such as Chopin’s “Minute Waltz” while the second part follows the presentation of the story with a wonderful flute recital by Barbara Siesel who is accompanied by pianist Jessica Krash. The second section allowed my children to explore more about the instruments and classical selections heard in the story of Green Golly & Her Golden Flute.

I enjoy fostering my children’s interest in the arts and classical music. In fact, one of their favorite homeschool field trips each year is to the annual Young People’s Orchestral Concert in Orlando, FL. With wonderful resources like Green Golly & Her Golden Flute, it is easier than ever to make listening to classical music and a great story entertaining and interesting for young children. I am very impressed with this children’s picture book and audio CD set and my three children really enjoyed listening to it.

Green Golly & Her Golden Flute (recommended for ages 4-10) is available for the SRP of $19.99 and includes the picture book and the audio CD!
