I’m always looking for cute apps to download for my sons. I need them to be age appropriate and easy enough for my four-year-old to learn and navigate on his own, and something that will hold his and his two-year-old brothers attention long enough to get us through long waits at the doctor’s office, or long lines at the grocery store. We now have a new game on our iPad and my iPhone that both my boys get a kick out of playing – Zangadoo.
Zangadoo is a great game for the toddler crew. My four-year-old figured out how to play all on his own, and he’s been able to get through the levels with very little reading comprehension help from me. He’s been able to figure out the visual instructions and has been having a blast “launching” the kangaroos! The object of the game is to help Zangadoo and his little brother Joey find their way home after losing their magic boomerang. You have to overcome some obstacles along the way, ranging from some pretty easy rock formations in the first few levels to more difficult trees and swamps on higher levels. My oldest loves the challenge and his little brother likes to watch the action. It’s a cute game that is entertaining and easy, perfect for kids four and up. And the best part – it’s free! Currently available in the App Store and compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad.
As part of this review, the Zangadoo team sent my kiddos a neat little gift pack that included a paperback Zangadoo book, a t-shirt, a neat little lunch box, and a stuffed Zangadoo (already claimed by my two-year-old!).
You can find out more about the Zangadoo app on the Zangadoo Entertainment Group website, where you can learn more about Australia, meet Zangadoo and his friends, as well as buy the book and other Zangadoo merchandise.
